Even though it is only June it is never too early to look ahead to the NFL season, which starts in 3 months. Between now and then, the Dolphins have a lot to do if they want to win their opening game against the AFC East Champion New England Patriots. Between the lightning-fast tempo of the Phins offense, the draining hot September mid-day sun, and the first time in real game speed in months, this could be the perfect recipe to take advantage, and abuse Darrelle Revis and the Patriots defense.
The Patriots are not known for playing terrific opening games, so this would be the time to steal a victory in the division. Obviously the Patriots still have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, but Miami’s fresh new look may be just enough to befuddle them for the first game of the year. The Dolphins are only 1 of 3 home teams that will start the season as a home team underdog, but every dog has their day.
