Some Mock Drafts saying Miami will select Todd Gurley at Number 14
The 2015 Draft is about a month away so speculation on which teams will draft which players will only continue to grow. The Draft is always an extremely interesting aspect of the NFL, because not only do teams have the chance to build their teams with talented youth, but rumors and strategies for drafting become rampant. Many football gambling fans believe that Miami will select one of the top three wide receivers in the draft if any are available at number 14 (White, Cooper, Parker), however many things could unfold between now and when Miami is on the clock, so anything is possible. One possibility that is beginning to gain momentum is football gambling fans believing that Miami may take a shot on Georgia running back Todd Gurley.
The only knock on Gurley is that he suffered a severe knee injury last season, and he may not even be 100% healthy to start the season. Obviously when you are drafting as high as number 14 you are hoping that the player will be an impact player, but at the very least you are counting on that player being able to start from day 1. So drafting a player with a significant injury like Gurley would definitely be considered a risky move, however high risk also tends to led to high reward.
Even with Gurley’s season ending injury he still racked up 911 rushing yards, 9 touchdowns and a 7.4 yards per carry average, and he is considered the best running back to enter the draft in the last 3 years. Some football gambling fans are even saying he could be the next Adrian Peterson, which beyond being a huge compliment, is also ironic considering he had a knee injury entering the draft as well.
The one small issue I would have if the Dolphins decided to use their first round pick on Gurley is that even though running back is a position that we need some help in, there are other positions like WR, LB, G, CB, and S that would all be considered a greater need for the team. However, one beneficial possibility is that if Gurley is still on the board at 14 and if Hickey believes he will be there in the late teens or early 20’s he could opt to trade back, and still draft Gurley and in the process pick up another 2nd round pick, which in a draft this deep would be extremely valuable to a team like the Dolphins, a team that has multiple needs. Even if Miami did not trade back and instead selected Gurley at the 14th spot I would not be disappointed, because he clearly has the talent to be one of the best running backs in the entire NFL. This guy is a work horse that can do it all well; run, catch and block.
If he can be as good as every football gambling fan believes he can be, then Miami would have one of the best running back tandems in all of football (the quick elusive Lamar Miller, paired with the bruising and barreling Todd Gurley) Gurley in all likelihood will be on the board if Miami decides to select at the number 14th spot, so the question to the rest of the Miami Dolphins news fans is would you select him despite his knee injury or that the phins have other more pressing position needs?
You said it! There are other positions like WR, LB, G, CB, and S that would all be considered a greater need for the team.
David Johnson will be around 3rd round, 4th round possibly in the 4th round. Also RB Langford from Michigan.

To me the only way the select Gurley is if they trade back, cause at 14 he is too much of a luxury pick and the Dolphins have other much higher priority needs
We definitely do not need to take a running back with the 14th pick, we need to get a wide reciever or a DB, or even a linebacker. we can address the running back position later on in the draft. oh and by the way Fred Walker Tannehill can throw the ball, he actually has a Higher accuracy percentage then Tom Brady, and a lot of the other top quarterbacks. He couldnt throw the deep ball to Mike Wallace but didn’t have a problem when it was to the other wide recievers.so stop hating on Tannehill, he is a very good quarterback And is the future for the Miami Dolphins. He is ranked 9th best qb last year and has done nothing but improve every year. If people remember he is a few years behind the rest of the quarterbacks that were drafted that year. Because he was a wide reciever turned quarterback. And I think he is doing a great job and see us getting to the playoffs or even further this year.
Like you said JoJo Tannehill has improved every season and yes he only played a season and a half at QB in college so he came into the NFL raw, however as evidence from him being a stud receiver in the SEC he is an athletic freak, probably one of the top 5 athletic QB’s in the entire league. Having Lazor for another season groom him, will only help his progress
