Is Spider-Man a good nickname for Parker?
The Dolphins desperately wanted DeVante Parker on their team, and he felt the same way about playing for the Dolphins, which means this has all the makings of a match made in heaven. The Phins were even considering trading up to get Parker, however, they got very lucky that some wide receiver needy teams ahead of them decided to address other positions in the first round.
Parker has everything that Miami has been looking for in a wide receiver for the last 10 years; height, speed, great hands, and is not a diva receiver. The Dolphins have struck out twice in a row on both Brandon Marshall and Mike Wallace, and in both instances, it was more a problem with personality than with performance. However, Parker is a team-first type of guy and does not come with any of those Diva warning flags. Just throwing it out there but I wanted to know what the Miami Dolphins news fans think about the nickname of Spiderman for Parker? (I say that because Spider-Man’s name was Peter Parker and Spider-Man has more ups than Michael Jordan, and DeVante has the ups to be the King of the jump ball.)
He has already strongly impressed during the Rookie minicamp, catching everything in his direction. He displayed his long reach and catching radius and caught everything at its highest point. Parker has the look and feel of a true number one receiver. I know that in Miami’s spread type offense they do not really focus on feeding one player the ball exclusively, but Parker is going to be a matchup nightmare for teams in the RedZone, and Tannehill will find it too irresistibly enticing to constantly throw him the ball.

Besides Parker developing into a stud wide receiver, Ryan Tannehill must also be extremely excited to have a shiny new toy to play with on offense. Let’s face it, Tannehill and Wallace were not a good match in skill set or personality, whereas Tannehill and Parker could be a perfect match. Sometimes Tannehill can be a little off with his accuracy, but Parker has the catching radius to mask those slight deficiencies in Tannehill’s game. Also what they need to be doing besides working on their chemistry together is practicing a lot of fade patterns down by the goal line, because Tannehill now finally has a player that has the height and ball skills to win any jump ball thrown in his direction.
The Dolphins reeled in a big catch this off-season in signing Suh, and the draft may have also helped them to reel in one of the biggest young stars on offense. Most pay per head reviews sites will say that Miami’s wide receiving group has the chance to be one of the most dangerous groups in the entire league, and not just for one season. This group is full of very young and very talented wide receivers, with Landry and Parker only being 22 years old and Stills being only 23 years old. If Tannehill can steadily improve again next season, then this group has a chance to be very special for the next 3 to 5 years together. What does the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans think about Parker helping this wide receiving group get to the next level?

So lets get this straight, the kid hasnt even put on pads for the Fins, much less played in a real NFL down, and youre deeming him…uh…Spiderman? WTF?
Bro, its gonna be realy hard for Tanny to find any receiver lying on his back. This OL is going to get him killed, I can see lots of hitch passes going to this kid.
Lets not deem him anything until he actually does something please. We’ve all heard this type of hype before, and the Fins continue to struggle to be a .500 team.
Will you ever be positive about anything?
Gotta give Tannehill time to throw
If this new front line can give him more time then our offense will average at least 7 more points per game. We are that much better than last year.
We do have a great group of receivers, a great tight end, and 2 backs that can run it or catch it. Parker gives us a lot more than Wallace ever delivered to this team. Watch him beat Wallace’s 2014 touchdown and receiving yards, records mid way through this season. Our offense is only missing one more true outstanding guard and it would be unstoppable. This is looking like the best offensive team we have fielded since the Dan Marino days.
Thanks Mr. Hickey. You have done an excellent job. This year the playoffs, next year the Superbowl.
Stay healthy guys.
I agree, if Tannehill can have some time to throw the ball than he can be extremely effective. He should have a slightly better running game with the addition of Ajayi, and if Albert can stay healthy than I think he will have more time and our offense should be even more productive. There is a lot of weapons on this offense and we added 3 red zone threats in Cameron, Parker, and Ajayi so we should score more TD’s in the redzone
