Will Davis on the Trading Block
The word on the street is that third year cornerback Will Davis is on the trading block. The Dolphins had high hopes for when they drafted him in 2103, but he has been plagued by injuries and has yet to make any type of impact.
I will adhere to Bill Parcells famous saying of “if they don’t bite as pups then they are never going to bite,” meaning that he has yet to shown any flashes at the NFL level, and sports gambling fans would agree that he will probably not suddenly become an impact player. If the Dolphins can get something for him like a draft pick or even an offensive lineman, then I say do it.
The problem with trying to get any team in the league to trade for Davis, is that every other team knows that the Dolphins are seriously considering waving him when it comes time to getting down to the 53 man game roster limit. At the moment the Dolphins have Grimes, Taylor, Brice McCain, Bobby McCain, Zack Bowman, and Tony Lippet, that is 6 cornerbacks, and depending on what the Dolphins decide at other positions that may be the total amount of cornerbacks that they keep on the roster. Davis would be the 7th name on the list and depending on who you speak with, many sports gambling fans feel that because of Davis’ previous knee injury which has limited him in the preseason, Davis will be the odd man out.
My prediction is that the other teams around the league have sensed that Miami has lost patience in waiting for Davis to become healthy, and no team in the league is going to trade away one of their valuable assets, draft pick or player, for a player that they can have for free. Miami is on desperation mode now by putting the word out there that they want to trade Davis, which means teams will now do the complete opposite. This is going to be similar to what happened with Evan Mathis, where finally the Eagles just cut Mathis, and then any team truly interested will come knocking, without having to give up one of their assets. What does the rest of the Miami Dolphins news fans think will happen in regards to Davis; will he make the 53 man roster, be traded, or just be cut?

Was this article written before or after his two interception night? I’d keep him over Bowman. CB Roster should be Grimes, Taylor, McCain (x2), Lippett, and Davis in my opinion. He immediately flashed when he got here a couple of years ago, and has been injured often enough to stall his progress. But now that he’s healthy, trade him? No way, ballhawk corners are not easy to come by. He needs at least one more year to develop but he unquestionably has a nose for the football.
Before, but talk about stepping up in crunch time. And now he made the roster as well. Ill eat crow on this article. I hope Davis continues to prove me wrong
Davis? Ehh
We re going to cut him anyway
No harm in trying to see if a team that is going to cut a veteran player maybe a guard might be interested in a trade that way neither team is fighting other teams to get their man that they need for a position in need for that team
Davis is better than quite a few corners that are on teams already and they might want to upgrade
Same with us if a team is going to cut a veteran guard that is better than our backups we will take him
