Phins Have Strong Edge vs Commanders
Miami is riding high while Washington is beat up and struggle
The Miami Dolphins are only 3-7 on the season, but beating the tar out of the Buffalo Bills last week has given some life to the fan base. With the Commanders up next in Spain, a win this week will have the Phins notching 3 victories in 4 games. Given how bad the Dolphins have played, you might say hold your horses and let’s see if they win first. But the Commanders have been as bad as the Phins, are coming into this game with far less momentum, and are much more beaten up.
Losing this week would be as great a surprise as Miami beating Buffalo lost week.
Now, this is the Phins we are talking about, so anything is possible. Still, when you go over these two teams, the chances look good that the 2.5-point favorite Dophins win.
Commanders are collapsing
The Dolphins are improving in nearly every key area and some in a very positive way.
You can see below with season averages on the left and last three weeks averages on the right that the Dolphins are recently trending higher in many important areas.
The three biggest keys that the Phins have grown in over the last 3 weeks is time of possession, rushing yards, and rush attempts. Miami has added nearly 3 1/2 minuets in time of possession, almost 40 yards more rushing, and 7 more rush attempts per game over the last three weeks.
Washinton is Beaten into the Ground by Injuries
The Commander’s secondary is ravaged with CBs Trey Amos and Marshon Lattimore on I.R., add in DT Deron Payne, WR Terry McLaurin, and QB Jayen Daniels are out of the lineup vs the Phins.
The offense is clearly ravaged and it’s so bad in the secondary that former Dolphins corner Noah Igbinoghene has returned to the starting lineup and he’s as bad as we remember. While Dolphins have their injuries too, they have their starting QB, WR, and RB to matchup up against this depleted and terrible Commanders secondary… and that should do the trick.
The smart bet with the best pay per head is Phins knock the stuffing out of Washington and move to 4-7 on the season.
What comes after that? Who knows? At least it will be a little interesting!
Go Phins!!!
