Tough Fought And Tasty!
Tough fought and tasty was how I describe today’s Miami Dolphins victory. We took heavy blows early. We were leaning and wobbling on the ropes…heck, I was reeling from the shots. It was so bad we recorded our 3rd straight safety. I thought there was a chance the team would fold up shop and hibernate till 2016. BUT, they didn’t, and instead showed true heart and grit even being down several players on defense…and when they came off the ropes they stuck their iron shod boot right up the arse of the Eagles.
Miami still made mistakes and some head scratching calls, but what was made certain is the Fins got some serious stars on that roster. Landry with a big first down and miraculous TD catch, Jones proving that his pace to statistically be the best S in the history of the game is no mistake with a HUGE Int in the endzone, and Suh again dominating and brutalizing O-line and QB’s alike, showing that he just might be worth that massive contract: all are elite players at their respective positions and under contract for several years.
This doesn’t mean even the best sportsbooks in the world are betting on us as Super Bowl material, but this win put serious light on dark times. We have a coach who has never coached before and had to pick up the pieces mid-season and whatever you think of his job so far, at the very least he has kept the team fighting when previous editions of the Miami Dolphins would have quit. So playoffs are remote, but they are still on the table. We might make them, or we might not, either way we are seeing that there are building blocks here with which this coach or another can build on. They like today’s win offer hope. Today and right now I am very happy my Miami Dolphins fought the way they did – AND WON!!! Go Fins!!!
Im not infatuated with Lazor. Not as a QB developer in any way shape or fashion. Play calling is not brain surgery.
Players win games, coaches lose em. Im just not impressed with Lazor maximizing the skill sets in Tanny and especially at TE position.
The playoffs only cause currently were 0-4 against opponents in our own division but will happen if its meant to be and if this team handles its bussiness for the rest of the season and prove it so.
Why not use Miller and Ajay as a 1-2 punch in the same backfield, Lazor?
Coach Campbell not only talks the talk but walks the walk bringing a fire in the belly attitude our fins or fans, to put it mildly, have not experienced in a very long time Stephen Ross needs to take that interim tag of the Head Coaches title, keep Campbell permanently and allow his imprint on this team not only to build upon and flourish but to continue as the Head Coach of this team for years to come
A much needed victory, and they played to the whistle – the final whistle!!! Wow did the “D” beat up the Eagles QBs? Though it may have not showed in the sack column, you can believe both Eagles QBs know just how physical the Miami “D” was yesterday.
I for one, liked what I saw from the back-ups in adverse moments. I mean, our defense wasn’t stopping them in the first half (or anyone weeks prior) and look what the defense did in the second half (shut out). At one point the Dolphins finished Sunday’s game with rookies 1) Neville Hewitt, 2) Jordan Phillips, 3) Mike Hull, 4) Tony Lippett and 5) Bobby McCain all playing regularly on defense.
That is a WHOPPING 5 rookie defensive players all on the first “D” at the same time to close out a season saving game. Say what you want, Sanchez or not, Bradford or not, these were the first place Eagles who have been on a hot streak @ a hostile Philly environment.
I’m sorry but Tannehill can make all the throws, but he just doesn’t have “it”. He has no (zero) pocket presence. His mind is made up who he is throwing to pre-snap read, regardless. I just feel that Tanny is a quality back up, and I hope I’m wrong, just don’t see other wise.
How can Tanny not be allowed to audible after pre-snap read? Is he that incompetent? Why haven’t we seen any designed Tanny runs in the new Campbell era? Understand some defenses dictate play calling but Tanny needs to be moved in/out of the pocket along with some designed runs. Tanny needs every advantage he can get. Locking onto a receiver and holding the ball is not an advantage.
The season is still alive. If we can some how beat Dallas w/a returning Romo and get to .500, could be a interesting 6 game stretch run and will set up a season defining game vs the Jets. Hope that Romo is rusty and needs a week to return to self.
Hope is alive!!!
You know thanks Dunner I didn’t even realized Jordan played…man how did that slip by. I’m rewatching today so it see where i zoned out and missed stuff. I think Tanny has been trained to be a robot and it is hurting him on pre snap reads…I think he is a good QB and could be better if they used his athletics more with QB action and rollout. I DONT like Lazor. I think Lazor does some good things but it is far out weighed by the bad.
Totally agree w/Lazor assessment. I used to be intrigued by him but seems there are moments throughout each game that makes no sense (predictable). I would be interested to know if Tanny is capable/allowed of an audible option, or if Lazor doesn’t feel comfortable believing that Tanny just can’t pre-snap read?
yeah, I cant recall a high priced QB who is supposed to be your franchise in his 4th year not calling audible…at least in the minimal sense: run or pass option. Very curious, something is very wrong somewhere.
why is lazor not letting tannehill audible? that is so wrong on so many levels. he needs to be able to pull out of a play at the line. just that simple.
AGREE 1000%…either Lazor is a control freak or Tanny cant handle it…I can’t imagine a chem major not being able to handle even a limited amount. I like Lazor less and less….
