Bill Lazor Fired!!!
The axe might have come too late to save the season, but at least now, we will see a lot of what we wanted and see players and coaches for what they are unburdened by Bill Lazor, now that former QB Zac Taylor has taken over his duties. Tanny and the Miami Dolphins offense will get their chance to see what they can and cannot do without his inept play calls and schizophrenic schemes. It is full audition time for all players on the Miami offense as well as Campbell himself and by seasons end it won’t take the best sportsbooks in the world to figure out what is what on this team.
For those who felt Tannehill was loaded down without control over the “O”, we “should” get to see what he is capable of as 3rd and medium, and 3rd and long, won’t be no longer be played as 3rd and short; It will be interesting as well if his ability to orchestrate at the line of scrimmage will change as well. Tannehill, I assumes, will be given every chance to prove he is the man of the future for this regime or the next. And now that Tannehill’s friction with Lazor and Lazor’s ill conceived game plan are gone, we should (as the line heals) get to see Tannehill without excuses.
For those who wanted to run more and not sit in shotgun most of the day, we “should” see the run game accentuated. Campbell has said he wants a tough, run oriented team and we haven’t seen THAT since his first two weeks of coaching. For those who believe in coach Campbell, now it is his show and he will get his chance to audition for the job of next year’s coach. We will see what he can do as far as coaching without Lazor and if he “figures out” how to get more out of Ayaji and Jordan and if he has the toughness to stick with the run.
It’s good that Lazor has been canned, but unfortunately, as with Philbust and Coyle it’s too late. I hope going forward we can be visionary and not see in perpetual hindsight. At least it’s the right direction though…Go Fins!!!
Agree need 2 Guards and a middle linebacker but we also need corner, a fullback, and a safety. If a tackle becomes available through free agency or draft we need to really look at acquiring one, because we will need a good one to backup our 2 offensive tackles.
Miller is OK but not great so if we loose him to free agency it will not affect the team that much, but if we do loose him then we have to draft a new running back. cannot go into the season with only Ajayi. Cannot see us paying Miller big bucks.
free agency is critical this year because we have too many needs and cannot fill them with the draft alone.
Would like to see Vernon stay
would definitely like to see Mathews stay
I don’t see another win this season either, but I expect that in at least one of those games we will luck out and see the calls go our way and we will win an unexpected win
We finish with 5 wins this year
hope we are in the top 6 or 7 teams for picking so we can get a pro bowl player in the first round with all our needs that should niot be too hard
Remember we will also pick up additional compensatory draft picks due to the free agents we lost last year.
Cannot afford to let Tannebaum make the picks. I hope he stays out of it and lets Hickey do his thing this year. if not then we will be drafting non starters again this year.
And stop with drafting goodie 2 shoes players
Get the mean ones – get the best players period. Get a coach like Campbell who can handle them and guide them
For me Ralph, Matthews is my top free agent priority on our team. Imagine him along w Laundry and Parker for the next 4/5 years…AWESOME. Its obvious we need guards, should be able to get one via free agency, we don’t need the best one, but lets get one that brings a lunch pale to work on a daily basis. For me I’m investing the top pick (top 5 or 6) on a can’t miss LBer such as Jaylon Smith, ND or a shut down corner such as Vernon Hargreaves, Fla., when you have the Best defensive lineman as well as the Best safety in the league I would be building around them.
Then again, I would not hesitate to swap picks w Cleveland (giving them Tannehill as part) and draft Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis or Jared Goff, QB, California.
Really sucks that we are talking about this on December 1. Thank you Mr.Ross
Tanny not the problem
we need the front line to be solid not porous
need top notch guards and linebacker as first priorities
give Tanny another year with a good offensive line
I hope I’m wrong Diego, but unfortunately I just don’t see the intangibles that the upper echelon QBs have. Yes, he can make all the throws, but being a difference maker at that position requires more than that. If we go another year w Tanny will be having this conversation AGAIN next year. Again, hope I’m wrong, but for me I’m going a different direction as soon as season is over.
We do not need a college coach. Just like any other team, all it takes is a decent off season a few breaks and you are right in the mix the following season. Oh yea, you do need a QB, and frankly I am not sure that Tanny has what it takes to this team or any other team to the playoffs.
If (when) we have a top 5 pick there may only be 1 maybe 2 teams that need a QB in front of us(Clev., 49ers), and the Browns never take a QB w their first pick. There are only 2 QBs (Goff, Cal., Lynch, Memp.) that are top 5 picks right now. Trade Tanny for whatever you can get, how about swaping picks w Clev. along w Tanny? Can’t believe that we are talking the draft already, can’t believe I am discussing taking a QB. But. if we go into next season w Tanny as our guy, we will be doing the same thing at this time next year, and the same discussion. Tannehill is nothing more than what Henne was, maybe a bit more athletic. I understand he is under a BIG contract, however, that contract is set up so he can be released after the ’16 season at no cost, which may be inciting to some teams in a trade offer.
This team has some players, above average Offensive Tackles/Center, one of the top young WR core in the league (should Matthews stay), the top Defensive tackle and the top Safety in the league, yes the best of those two! If we can get the right staff in place that can draft and pick up the good players and coach them up, we may be onto something. We need to move on from Tanny first though!!!
Time to go after the Field General Warriors!
College football coaches with a .900 to 750 winning percentage
Miami Dolphins can step up to the plate and go after the BEST! I feel he would be best suited to defeat the PATS.

This work for Seattle with Pete Carrol why not us?
reason it worked for Seattle was they have a good GM or lucky one. He hit on a ridiculous rate for his drafts..check it out was totally insane. Not to say Carrol isn’t a good coach, but it was more talent than coaching their. I’m not knowledgeable about college coaches, so I’ll look into those you mentioned – thanks.
there*
Admin I agree!
If I were Mr. Ross I would go get my coach without this Management input. Seriously consider trading my first round to obtained the top 2 offensive linemen in the draft. Plus obtained another threw free agency.
After that the best linebacker without a doubt in the draft to captain the Dolphins Defense.
Third would have to be the best 3 down back on the board.
4th would have to be a QB that without doubt can make all his throws, most importantly battle tested and can lead. Set to play behind Tennehill until ready the first year or second year.
Lastly I would put my bids in now for the 49ers QB Kapernick while he’s in the Red or low price to get him.
I would get my two starting corners from free agency.
Sorry, but I am glad that you are not making the calls for this team. Then again, can’t be any worse then what has happened thus far. Ross has no idea what a good coach entails, he needs all the help he can get, good or bad help!
Dolphin Fans!
Who can Miami beat (Raven Dec 16, Giants Dec 14, Chargers Dec 20, Colts Dec 27, Patriots Jan 3)
I dont see a Win, We could very well finished the season with 4 Wins and 12 Losses???
How bad is it? 1. Cleveland 2-9, Tennessee 2-9, San Diego 3-8, Dalls Cowboys 3-8, Detroit 4-7, New Orleans 4-7, Miami 4W -7L
Which may put us – Miami Dolphins at number 1, 2 or 3 draft pick for 2016.
I can’t believed that We are discussing (Shawn Peyton Saints Coach) who currently has 4 Wins and 7 Losses. Come on Man!
Thing with the Saints is their personnel sucks. Payton doesn’t get the players…and that’s the problem. Unless you get someone awesome like…I think I’m going to throw up – Bellichick, who does both, the coach can only do so much with what he has. We need both, FO and coach. We need an EPIC offseason.
To bad for Laser, he was adamant about passing but not winning the games.
Firing Lazor is a good move. Reports state he wouldn’t adjust to what Campbell wanted on O.
He felt passed up for interim role and that Camp was under him so he wasn’t adapting to Camps requests.
More drama out of Davie. The signature of a Ross team.
Let’s see just what changes happen and if these bums can execute out of the I-formation.
Let’s see if Tanny-Henne is more than just a pretty arm w a hot wifey. Let’s just see if he actually has anything between his ears.
Regardless, the D still can’t cover or tackle.
Matthews for me. Not sure on Parker and he shouldn’t command a crazy deal …Vernon might be looking for a big payday and he doesn’t seem to me to deserve it. Miller needs to go…too much for a inconsistent back with durability issues.
Agree, like Miller and I believe that he would have put up BIG numbers last and this year if it weren’t for Lazor. But, unless he takes a a home town discount, RBs can be had elsewhere, plus Ajayi is in the picture now.
For me too Admin., it would be Matthews, he is a product of our own, and again he may have had a couple years like this year if it weren’t for Philbin. Laundry/Matthews/Parker is as good as could get for several years to come with a VERY VERY high ceiling!!!
OV will be commanding to much, and not quite the play maker as his camp will demand. Wish him luck though.
Time start analyzing for ’16. Who stays/goes, Which Miami draftee to try to keep Miller/Matthews/Vernon? I like home grown players!
9 rushes, 58 passes….. What else did you expect Lazor? Your call play calling may work in college (Cornell), not in the NFL! Really 8 rushes (RBs). 8 rushes is all you need to know about the game. I found it hard to believe that Campbell was supportive of that style, and yes I was right.
Offensive additions for ’16, the list should include and even start w Tannehill. He is plunging in a hurry.
Can we package Tannehill for Sean Payton/Drew Breese/and 2nd round pick? I am all for it!!!
It made this weeks game far more interesting! Peyton is a good coach, but he won’t do squat without a personnel man along with him! But, I’d take ’em.
