Pro Bowl Worthy

Dolphins-Titans-Football-5

There were not very many bright spots in the Dolphins 2015 season, especially when this year many were wagering that the Dolphins may finally have had the talent to compete with the Patriots. With only 3 games remaining in the season and officially being eliminated from the playoff hunt, the faint ray of hope the Dolphins have two young budding talents that are Pro Bowl worthy players.

On defense, the player who has consistently played well each week, and who has jumped off the tape when you watch any Dolphins game is Reshad Jones. Jones is not a perfect Safety, he has had a few mental lapses that have led to big plays for the other team, however, is a beast this season nearly everywhere else in his skill set. Jones has been all over the field making plays where I have truly been shocked at his explosion and speed . At times his play has made everyone else on the field seem slow-mo. In addition, he has all the statistical numbers to back up his Pro Bowl selection. Jones has the 5th most tackles in the entire league with 117, he is tied for 9th most in NFL in interceptions with 4, and 2 of those he has returned for touchdowns, and just for good measure he also has added 2 sacks and one fumble recovery to his impressive 2015 resume. For me Jones has by far been the MVP on defense for the Dolphins, and for a player that once said he is the best safety in the league, this season he is truly playing like it.

On offense, Jarvis Landry has been the one player that has consistently been the spark for the Dolphins. Landry may not have all the metrics that scouts drool over, however, he has a hunger, and desire to be the best that can not be denied. Landry is just one catch away from setting the Dolphins franchise record for most catches in a season. (O.J. McDuffie had 90 receptions in 1998) With 3 games remaining, most likely Landry will easily be able to break the 100 reception mark. In addition Landry already has 920 receiving yards, so with 3 games remaining he should easily be able to crack the all important 1,000 yard receiving mark. (In terms of receptions he is tied for 4th most in the league, and in terms of receiving yards he is tied for 16th best in the league.) He also has 4 touchdowns, and one punt return for a touchdown, and has the 7th most punt return yards in the NFL. Landry has been the heart and soul of the Dolphins offense, and many of the best sportsbooks in the world would argue that he is already one of the best slot receivers in the entire league. However, with the NFL being a full blown passing league, there are a few other receivers in the AFC that have even gaudier statistics, and are on teams that are going to actually make the playoffs, so it is very possible that Landry gets snubbed from the pro bowl, unless he makes it as an alternate.

What do the rest of the Miami Dolphins news fans think about these two players chances at a pro bowl berth? What other Miami Dolphins players do you think deserve consideration for a spot on the Pro Bowl roster?

Who cares? Who gives a crap about the pro bowl popularity contest?

This organization is a disgrace. They have assembled this roster of losers.
Either Ross, Tannenbaum, Hickey, (and Philbin) are liars or they’re complete incompetents. They promised a competitive team. That this team was “close”. That Suh would make everyone on D better. blah blah blah.

I vote theyre incompetent. When was the last HC hired that had NFL HC experience since 1995? Aside from JJ?

Campbell proved he’s not HC capable, nor the coordinators anything more than positional coaches. This team laid an egg yesterday…and all for a coach they want to keep? Give me a fucking break. Campbell is little more than the players’ friend.

Heres the problem with all this…this is the same bunch of idiots that will be selecting a HC next year, and picking players in the draft.

Wash, rinse, repeat for the Fins.

Pouncy maybe on name recognition…not play for sure. Miller might as well if he has some crazy games in these last 3…maybe.

…Jones for sure, Landry should make it as well but its like you said, iffy

…Suh may make it on reputation if nothing else

…don’t see any others that are likely candidates
