Miami Can Get Help While Enjoying Bye-Week

The Bye-Week can offer help outside Miami getting healthy.

The Bye-Week can offer help outside Miami getting healthy.

It’s a Bye-Week for Miami, but not for the Bills, Jets and Pats.

Heading in to the Bye-Week, the Miami Dolphins are coming off two surprising victories against two good football teams.

Miami will not get the chance — just yet — to make it three in a row this weekend. But, the Bye-Week will give them a chance to get healthier and put in some extra preparation for their next game against the hated Jets.

It will also offer the Dolphins a chance to get some help from around the NFL to help climb themselves out of the AFC cellar. A few AFC games that the Dolphins will be keeping an eye on are the Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) at Indianapolis Colts (3-4), San Diego Chargers (3-4) at Denver Broncos (5-2), New England Patriots (6-1) at Buffalo Bills (4-3), and New York Jets (2-5) at Cleveland Browns (0-7).

Going in to the Bye-Week with confidence is always a good thing.

At the moment, the AFC West has all 4 teams apearing to be worthy of making the Playoffs. While Miami  has crept back into the playoff picture, most of the best pay per head are betting against the Dolphins to make the playoffs. But, at the very least, they have allowed themselves to now be included in the mix.

At bare minimum, 4 of the above teams will lose this weekend. So that alone will be a good thing for Miami. The Browns nearly ruined the Dolphins home opener, and they will have Josh McCown back at QB, so don’t be surprised if the Browns pick up their first win of the year today. Also, the division battle between the Pats and Pats will offer help not matter what.

It’s hard to say which would be better, a Pats win or Bills. Each as its advantages and drawbacks. But, I think the Pats losing is the greater advantage as it derails the division leader.

No matter what, it will still come down to a must win for Miami against the Jets. But every little advantage counts at this stage of the game. Again, Gase and the Dolphins will have all the major cards and none more crucial than health. One week away seems so far. Go Fins!!!

Let us get to .500 this week with another divisional win. Then, and only then can we even start to mention playoffs. The schedule does seem to be a bit favorable with Miami’s opponents, but the road games along with back to back west coast trips, 2 games in NY in December (winter weather).
So even though we may be hitting our stride and may have discovered our strengths we do not have a good track record late is seasons.
So it starts with this Sunday by beating the hated Jets. Win get to .500 and some how survive the next 4 games, 3 of them being in the road. So the opportunity is there and seems as though we control our own destiny, can Gase be the difference in December???

…its a bit early to start the play-offs speculation but wth, its a bye week
    …Pats/Jets won …Bills lost
…we win out, we’re in as a wild card …or better …that simple
…Pats/Belicheat/Brady are for real but we MUST beat at home
…we are not going to win the division without a total collapse by the Pats
…we have a shot at a wild card …next 5 games are soft targets if fins are real
…we need NFC to win vs AFC ….except against fins and AFC S/N/W div leaders …that’s a given
…we need AFC West/South/North leaders to win out to force Pats into 1st round playoff game
…we need EVERY other AFC team to lose …the higher W/L record losing to the lower W/L record team
…last 3 lines have conflicts …work it out, eh
…simply put, we need to win …with 4 losses already, 3 more would doom us
    …can’t believe we’re 3-4 and talking playoffs …when we’re 8-4, call me 🙂

From what I see from the Pats, they are real because of their system, coaching and they played a bunch of teams that are incomplete. They have yet to beat a quality team. Thing is, at this point, it seems that the AFC doesn’t have a real good team at the moment. So, Pats could be on their way again. As far as the Fins go, this will be a big one as it will show what Gase can do with time and momentum against a team that’s a tough out and has strength matchup to your strength. Playoff talk is more about numbers spell out death or a faint hint of life. It’s a long shot at this point, but that alot better than what I would have thought 2 weeks ago…we’ll see if Miami is the real deal.
