Adam Gase As Jets HC Reignites Division Rivalry

Adam Gase has a new team… and new QB

Adam Gase will add plenty of flavor to Phins / Jet rivalry

Adam Gase is now the new Head Coach of the New York Jest… err, I mean Jets.

Some hate this news because they still believe in Gase. More hate this because Gase went to ‘gag-green’ after wearing orange and aqua.

But every Phins fan knows this move will add fire to a rivalry that’s been on a slow burn for some time.

Even if the Dolphins don’t make it personal, Gase will

You can bet with the pay per head services like www.AcePerHead.com that there will still be:

There’s a 100% chance Gase will keep it classy… like his onside kick, up 33-9 in the 4th, against the Broncos in 2017.

Gone but not forgotten…

I still like Adam Gase (maybe I’m crazier than he is).
I still believe if Gase had corrected his flaws he could have achieved the goals we saw for him in 2016. He never entered the Joe Philbin level of discomfort I felt watching him speak or coach. Over his last couple of weeks in Miami, he got close though. Still, there was a load more likable about Gase than Philbin… but not enough ‘likable’ to keep for another year.

In some ways Gase ‘got a raw deal’… in others, he made his own raw deal with jackassery. But the reality is, Gase is a tad unhinged and has problems seeing the forest among the trees. I hoped Gase would correct them at his next job… now I’m rooting he does ‘rinse and repeat’.

Gregg Williams in the mix along with a quality QB and roster will give the Jets the edge early

Gregg Williams will be the Jets Defensive Coordinator. This is bad news for the Dolphins. The Jets have a ton of tools for Williams to use and he is an aggressive and excellent DC. Given the shoddy state of this Dolphins offense, Williams will have a sizable edge.

Phins fans should expect Gase to get the early laughs in this rivalry…

…But it’s not who laughs first who laughs best.

We were all laughing along with Gase in 2016… that didn’t last long.

Gase worked tirelessly for the Dolphins franchise, is smart, wanted to win desperately. BUT, Gase put himself before the team because there were aspects of his process immune to questioning and alteration… no matter how poorly they performed. That’s why he’s gone… and now the enemy.

Every Miami victory over him will be extra sweet.

As the Dolphins ‘next’ Head Coach, Brian Flores, once said quoting a ‘‘, “If you work hard and put the team first, you’re a leader.

Steven Ross might be right or wrong with his decisions on GM and coach… only time will tell. But Ross showed great leadership in accepting blame publically, changing his M.O., and putting the right hierarchy in place. I look forward to having similar leadership in the Dolphins General Manager and Head Coach… it’s been quite some time since Phins Fans could say that! Go Phins!!!
