As Dolphins Prepare For Crucial Battle With Ravens
Miami gets to prepare this week with their starters on the left side of the O-Line.
With two days left to prepare for the Ravens, the Dolphins have some news, tidbits and items worthy of reflection.
The primary news that should bring a lot of hope for the franchise and its fans, Laremy Tunsil and Branden Albert have begun to practice on a limited basis and have a decent chance to play this week.
Considering Miami’s resurgence coincided with the return of the starters on its line, this is big news if even one of the two can play against the Ravens.
On a down note, Mike Pouncey will not play again this week…and another bummer is right guard Jermon Bushrod was limited Wednesday with a calf injury.
And one more bit from Negative Nelly as I go for the trifecta, defensive tackle Leon Orr was arrested Tuesday and faces charges for possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. He was promptly cut in response. While the best pay per head sportsbook isn’t betting on this to be a disaster, with Earl Mitchell missing practice due to a bad back and Jason Jones on suspension, this does put some stress on Mario Williams playing and does weakens the D-Line depth.
It’s a mixed bag as some healed player prepare and some newly injured are not.
Run stop will play a crucial role this week, so this ‘DT thinning’ should be something to keep an eye on during the game.
The spot opened by Orr’s departure is being filled by practice squad player receiver Rashawn Scott.
This activation does hint that DeVante Parker, who missed practice on Wednesday, might be limited or unavailable this week.
But a good note is that Leonte Carroo will get more opportunities this week if Parker can’t go. Carroo’s touchdown last week flashed some of his purported talent, and it appears he will be a factor. Although, it’s highly doubtful he can fill the shoes of a healthy Parker.
In conclusion, if Tunsil and / or Albert can play, it will out weigh by far a Carroo / Parker swap. This team suffered a defeat in 2008 by the Ravens because they had zero ground game. If Miami wants to win, they need to be at least competent in their rushing effort. And a replacement of Young by either of the two will go along way to making that happen. Go Fins!!!

3 of the many games he was out coached, brother. Good stuff thanks again.
WOW. Some more good news for the Fins and Fin fans:
Gronk out 2 months w back surgery.
I know, we need to take one week at a time, especially focusing on this weeks game vs Baltimore. However; should Miami win this week, all the sudden Miami is basically 1 game back of the Pats with 3 games left until they play the Pats at home. I’m not even going to say what I’m thinking (at least until or if it gets to that) 🙂 🙂 🙂
You’re assuming the pats lose to the Rams? Personally, after seeing how gimpy Brady was last week, and with the growth of Goff the last couple of weeks……that is a very good possibility.
Not necessarily. If we continue to win, we would need the Pats to lose 1 game prior to our game vs them regardless who it is against. If we are 1 game behind the Pats going into that last game it could be for division title. Know it is a lot to expect, but hey, at this point may as well shoot for the sky. Because there wasn’t even a sky 6 weeks ago.
I don’t like to see injuries, but in this case, to bad so sad!!!
….1st day of December and Dunner is talking AFC East title game already
….and he’s not even snoring
….
….
Hey, so far they have out run the odds — until proven otherwise why not believe. Of course, if they win the next couple it will add a ton of credence to this type of hope. Tomorrow is a BIG step in that direction.
Gronk being injured is about as big as it could get for them beside Brady going down. They arent the same team without him. They are tough no doubt, but not the same. Now, why would anyone go on the cover of Madden at this point? Not sure if it’s coincidence or causation — either way, it seems like a bad career move!!!
There is talk now that Brady might not show. He is severely hurt…Rams will pound you and that alone even if the Pats beat the Rams is big trouble give their situation and already beat up team. Now, if somehow the Rams win and beat up the Pats…that would be such a sweet dream cherry on a Miami win!!!
Done for the season now. That’s a tough pill to swallow for them! I feel real bad for the right now…not.
Interesting piece of audio about our Fins and Sunday’s match-up vs the Ravens below. I am all about more carries this Sunday for Ajayi. 25-30 successful or not, either way, need to win the time of possession Sunday and keep our defense fresh while keeping their defense on the field.
