Brady To Phins… Rumor or Truth?

The Phins are All Pro at generating off-the-field, drama-related news

So, as we all know by now, there have been reports floating around that Tom Brady was going to be a Miami Dolphin for this upcoming season.  Apparently, there was an entire elaborate plan to get Brady and Sean Payton to Miami this offseason. Is this conspiracy truth or theory?

The plan as it was reported was for Miami to acquire Sean Payton as the next head coach of the Dolphins in early February with Brady coming out of retirement. In phase 2, the Dolphins would acquire his contractual rights from the Tampa Bay Bucs.

It sure does sound nice!

Dolphins win the offseason rumor Super Bowl!

There were also rumors right after Brady retired that he was looking to be a minority owner in the Dolphins. This allegedly was the first step in luring Brady to the Dolphins and then giving them the easier way to acquire his rights from the Bucs. However, all this went up in flames as soon as Coach Brian Flores filed a discrimination lawsuit against the Dolphins, which was ‘coincidentally’ the same day Brady retired.

Funny how this corroborates part of the Flores lawsuit that claimed that Stephen Ross had scheduled a meeting on his yacht with a big name QB in 2019 that was currently under contract with another team. The reports were that this big name QB was none other than Tom Brady. It doesn’t take the best football software to know that this is tampering.

The stories do tie together nice! No?

Brady is playing with the Bucs… at least until next year

Brady did end up coming back out of retirement, however he’ll be playing with the Bucs in 2022.  Also Sean Payton decided to step away from coaching this season, but made it clear that he’s not permanently retired and may consider head coaching opportunities in the future.

It’s hard to tell how true all this is… and if the Brian Flores suit did not happen how this scenario would have played out. Either way the Dolphins moved on and hired McDaniel as the head coach and decided (for now) to stick with Tua going into the 2022 season. The Dolphins ended up making a ton of moves this offseason. And after plenty of in-house signings, free agent signings and trades the hype for this 2022 team is now through the roof!

Tua easily has his best supporting cast on offense in his young NFL career. So it’s do or die this season for Tua in 2022. If he can’t get it done this year, then you can bet the Dolphins will looking for another solution at QB in 2023. Will it be Tom Brady, who only has one year remaining on his contract and will decide where he wants to play in 2023?

Guess we can expect to get the 2021 Watson-esque rumors in 2022 if Tua struggles… this time with the quarterbacks name will be Tom Brady. The more things change in Miami, the more they stay the same!

What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans thoughts of this latest rumor?

No no no to Brady becoming a dolphin. Could you imagine what it would look like seeing Marino in a patriots uniform? We’ve been looking for the next franchise QB since Dan retired and we drafted Tua wanting to believe he’s the answer. So let’s find out this year and if he doesn’t work out ( I believe he will) then we can go to the draft and find him. I would rather go another 20 years being the team we’ve been for the past 20 years than to put Brady in our tiel and orange uni’s.No way baby, I love our dolphins and have hated Brady for 20 years so I don’t care how bad Ross wants to win, that would be betrayal. GO FINS!!!
