New interim head coach Dan Campbell is not wasting any time in his quest to bring the intensity back to the Miami Dolphins football team. The Dolphins only had one practice this week, but the Wednesday practice was full of intensity generated by live hitting, something that this team and players have not seen in many years. It reminded me of the famous Bruce scene in Enter The Dragon about emotional content.

Campbell instituted the famous Oklahoma drill which pairs players against each other mono y mono and lets them go full out and hit each other to see who can out power who. I remember this drill myself when I played high school football, and it was always a great drill that got everyone pumped up and ready to play hard.

After the practice ended and the media was able to talk with the players, there were lots of positive reviews on their first practice with their new head coach. Clearly, I am being optimistic and hoping for the best, but if Philbin truly was the problem, which we all believe he was, then this team may be able to turn things around quickly.
