Can the Dolphins actually have a home field advantage

Back in the days of Don Shula, the Dolphins were a very good team at home, especially in the first two months of the season. The players would train all summer long in the obscenely high temperatures of the Miami sun, and when the season finally started they had an obvious advantage over opponents that traveled to Miami to play in September and October. No matter how physically fit these teams were, the heat of the Miami sun, would wear on opponents by the 4th quarter.

Over the last 10 years, between a combination of poor talent, and an owner who wanted to move Sunday games away from the peak heat time of 1pm, the Miami Dolphins home field advantage has been nothing but a distant memory. What is ironic, is that Ross did not want the phins fans to not have to sweat their tails off during early season home games, and thus enjoy the game more, but if the end result is going to be watching a losing performance than I don’t think the phins fans feel like the comfort level is worth the sacrifice.

Fortunately the next two games will be home games kicking off at 1pm, and there is an outside chance that phins news fans may actually see a glimpse of what it is like to have a home field advantage again. The reason I say this is because of Philbin’s installation of his new offense that often uses a hurry up no huddle approach. The sportsbook betting software strategy is that when the 4th quarter approaches this weekend against Oakland, there should be a lot of opportunities to take advantage of a gas’d out Oakland defense. The weather is supposed to be in the high 80’s, so there is a strong possibility that with a no huddle offense, a pumped up opening day home crowd, and extremely high on field temperatures, that the Dolphins may actually have a noticeable advantage in this game, that will hopefully be reflected in the final score.
