Charged or Not, Hill Is Hurting 2023 Season!

However it goes, Hill is bringing headaches that the Phins don’t need

We all know by now that Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill has created a problem for himself and the team to some degree with his boating incident. But what is uncertain is whether he will or won’t be charged with a crime. The news said no at first, now maybe, soon it could be yes–or no, I guess… it’s all over the place.

Either way, Hill has brought headaches to the 2023 Season that the Phins don’t need.

This season is going to be a meatgrinder schedule in a tough AFC East and matched up against the AFC West with the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles sprinkled in. Miami needs every edge they can get. What they don’t need is distractions or extra problems because plenty will arise on their own. This is the NFL and teams are never short on challenges. Hill, whether charger or not, has added extra headaches to the Phins 2023 Season.

Dredging up the past & continuing the dysfunction

Mike McDaniel had to come into a season with the missteps of owner Stephen Ross bringing bad optics and causing the team to lose draft capital. Then in the middle of the season, there were the Tua concussions and whether they were handled right by the medical staff.

This season was to be a clean slate for him with the Dolphins turning the corner on a dysfunctional past into a functional franchise…

…Then Hill had to make his jackass move.

Whatever you think or don’t think about the situation, when you are paid $25 million per year you have a clear obligation to be squeaky clean. That agenda certainly doesn’t include slapping an employee in the back of the head, charging at him, and needing to be restrained.

For me, at this stage, the biggest hit is the dredging up of the past.

I really didn’t know about all his domestic violence and for me, the way I view Hill now has changed permanently. I just saw him as a small, hot-tempered, slightly primadonna receiver fighting to thrive in a big man’s game. You can do a quick search of his past actions if you are ignorant of them like I was.

Saying to an average Joe, “I can buy you and the boat” and “I’m No. 10 with the Miami Dolphins, ” tells me, despite the ‘step up’ from his past actions, that he still likes picking on the weak. And that pretty much ends any favor I’ve had or will have with him as a person.

But, he’s locked on the team and is critical to the Phins’ success for the next 2-3 seasons.

The trade for Hill could be determined by how this plays out

A real bummer on the football side is that if he is charged, the league will have to punish him this time because they let him pretty much walk on his 2019 domestic abuse issue. Considering how tough the schedule is and how critical the first 4 games of the season are, this could be a big hit on the Dolphins’ success this season.

You can bet with the best pay-per-head that on the road vs the Chargers, Patriots, and Bills, and home vs the Broncos would be a lot easier WITH Hill in the lineup. At the bare minimum, Miami must come out of that stretch 2-2 or the pressure for the rest of the season will be high.

Giants, Philly, Patriots again, and the Chiefs in Germany is a tough lineup. The only real stiff is the Panthers at home.

Heading into their Week 10 Bye, the Phins must be at the very least 5-4. So, Hill missing a few games could be crippling to the season.

It’s wait-and-see for the drama to play out… AGAIN!

I’d don’t know how this will play out, but I know it will be talked about and the negativity will be dialed up because of this stupid move by Hill. Guess we Phins fans will just need to once again wade through the drama of our Miami Dolphins once again and hope there’s sunshine on the other side! Go Phins!!!
