Saturday night at 7:30 pm eastern the Miami Dolphins will make a short cross-town trip to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their 2nd Preseason game of the year. This is just another chance for the Dolphins to improve as a team and give some bubble players a chance to prove they are worth a roster spot.
Tannehill will at least get one series in the game, and maybe more snaps depending on the outcome of his first series. Football betting software fans will be curious to see if Tannehill can continue where he left off in the Atlanta game, and provide another touchdown drive. This time Tannehill will also have the added benefit of having his two main starting wide receivers of Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline in the line-up, so it will be interesting to see how his chemistry is evolving with these two offensive weapons. Two offensive weapons that will not be active for the game are Charles Clay and Knowshon Moreno. Clay is still nursing a knee injury, and Moreno who has been practicing this week is still not ready for a live game.

On defense, the Dolphins will have Jimmy Wilson as the starting safety to prepare for Reshad Jones‘ 4 game suspension. Wilson who is normally the team’s starting nickel corner will get the chance to prove to football fans that he can hold down the fort in the back of the defense with Jones’ looming absence. This will also mean that when the Dolphins do use their nickel defense, we will get to see how Cortland Finnegan handles the nickel position, and see which one of the sophomore cornerbacks Taylor or Davis can separate themselves, and earn the other starting cornerback spot in the nickel defense. Both are still young and raw players, but my money is on Davis because he consistently exhibits a knack for getting his hands on the football.
The other thing that will be closely analyzed in this game, will be the linebackers, and the overall level of tackling from the defense. The Phins were atrocious in tackling the ball carrier in the first game, and it will be even more worrisome if they continue to have issues. During this week of training camp, the coaches made sure to incorporate more tackling drills and more physicality into their practices. It will be closely monitored to see if the tackling issue improves, or if Phins fans are in store for a long season on defense.
The current line on the game has the Dolphins as a +3 point underdog, and football gambling fans should only bet on this game, so they can make a meaningless preseason game more exciting and bare able.
