D-Line, Dominant or Deceiving?
It is well known that going into this season the Dolphins’ two biggest strengths are their defensive line and their wide receiving group. The receiving group has come a long way from the days, when Davone Bess was the only receiver on the team that could catch the ball. This is a bold statement but there is a chance that this group of receivers may be one of the top 5 groups in the entire league. I would say Denver, Atlanta, and Chicago are up their and then after that Miami definitely would be in the conversation.
The Defensive line has a lot of talent as well with two former Pro Bowlers in Cameron Wake and Randy Starks. If Olivier Vernon can start off where he left off last season then there is a chance the Dolphins may have two pass rushers that can attain double digit sacks. Even though the Dolphins lost Soliai, they did sign a solid replacement in Earl Mitchell. They also have Jared Odrick in the inside, who has progressively gotten better each season. The Dolphins also have solid depth with Shelby, Johnson, Fede, and Jordan when he comes back from suspension.
The defensive line looks very good on paper, however, this is almost the same exact personal as last season, and the run defense last year was not very good, ranking 24th in the league allowing 124.9 yards per game. The Dolphins’ strength used to always be that teams had a problem running on them, but last season was a big step back, and they lost probably their best and definitely biggest run stopper in Paul Soliai. Obviously the linebacking unit, which is the same from last season, is accountable for the lack luster run defense, but if the D-line is as good as advertised, then running backs should not be able to get to the second level of the defense.
So the question that sports betting software like Ace Pay Per Head Software fans have, are the Dolphins D-line really as good as advertised? They were not very good against the run last season, and losing Soliai, on paper does not make them any better against the run. It seems that everyone that is saying the D-line is going to be the team’s biggest strength is looking at the D-line as only responsible for pass rushing, but they are also the first line of defense for run defense. I hope our run defense can do better than allowing 124.9 yards per game, but at the moment it does not seem like our D-line is built to stop the run any better than last season.

I think your missing the picture of these articles. I am a Dolphins fan and it has been pretty obvious from the articles that I have been optimistic of this team from the start. I guess the articles about the Dolphins being able to beat the Patriots and disrupting Brady, and cutting Daniel Thomas, Thigpen, and undrafted rookies Gator and Williams making the team were wrong as well
