Miami Dolphins Continue To Get Disrespect

Most fans have changed their opinion on the Dolphins direction, today Miami can get end the disrespect.

Miami’s disrespect  ‘is due to’ close wins and beating few good teams.

Even though the Maim Dolphins have clinched the Playoffs they are still getting disrespect.

Today Miami will be hosting the New England Patriots in the last game of the season — the ‘best’ team in the conference.

As we have said before, if Miami can win, combined with a Kansas City Chief loss against the San Diego Chargers, then Miami would earn the 5th seed and a date with the Houston Texans.

However, most don’t see much of a chance of that happening.

And with news that Michael Floyd, the ex-Cardinals receiver, being activated, and that the Dolphins have a depleted secondary, is feeding the fires that Miami doesn’t have a chance.

Floyd has displayed big play talent over his career. But, after legal troubles, and two sub-par seasons, he was cut and pick-up by the Patriots. In theory, Floyd is the best wide-out talent in New England since Randy Moss. But, the actuality of that is still a mystery.

Miami recent history of failure has added to the disrespect they are receiving.

This disrespect is being reflected in the Dolphins being a -9.5 underdog at home. But, last year they were a -10 point underdog, and we remember how that went.

The best pay per head bookie service in the world opened up the Patriots as the -9 point favorite last Sunday evening, and the line has been pretty steady since. It has bumped up to as high as -10 for the Patriots, and at the moment it is holding at -9.5 for the Pats. The action is coming in more on the Patriots, at almost a 3 to 1 ratio for New England. Both teams have said that they are going to play their starters, and both teams would like to end the regular season with a win. A win for the Patriots would allow them to officially lock up the number one seed in the AFC, which is not something they want to let slip through their grasps this season.

The Dolphins have defied the odds all season. And even after securing a spot in the playoffs last week, after a thrilling victory on the road in Buffalo, Miami has not received any respect from the odds makers or media.

Most are giving the Dolphins zero chances of winning this game, and for that matter, even keep this game close. However, this Miami team has shown all season long, that they don’t need anyone to give themselves a chance to win, besides themselves.

I’m not saying that the doubters stance is unwise — but what I am saying is, if Miami can shatter the odds and win more than just a victory today. I think even if they make it a close game and lose, they will change the minds of many; but, if they win, they will force the respect of even their most ardent detractors. Go Fins!!!
