Dolphins Start Prep for Commanders!
Phins are in control of their destiny & beating the Commanders is key
The 2023 Miami Dolphins had high expectations going into this season and at 8-3, three games up in the division, they’ve lived up to the hype. Now, the Washington Commanders in their house are up next, and it looks like there could be some messy weather to complicate things a little. The Dolphins must take a step forward to outdo last season, where at 8-3 they went to Buffalo and lost a nailbiter and a long-losing skid followed. They still made the playoffs and that was great, but this season Miami is looking at the Super Bowl and not just making the playoffs.
Moving to 9-3 with two home games against the lowly Titans and Jets could set a sky-high trajectory heading into three tough games against Dallas, Ravens, and Bills to wrap up the season. This game won’t be an easy out, but it’s exactly the type of victory Miami needs to win!
Injuries are piling up, but Phins have all the ammo needed!
Today’s injury report of players missing from practice included Tyreek Hill, Terron Armstead, Jevon Holland, Raheem Mostert, Durham Smythe, and Kendall Lamm. It’s not to say these players will miss this week, although Terron might, but the Phins are a little beat up. Of course, you have to add Jalean Phillips who had surgery today. Thankfully Vic Fangio talked Van Ginkle to play for us this season and he’s been lights out!
Whatever the injuries turn out to be, the Dolphins have all the talent they need to beat the Commanders, but it’s a sure bet with the best pay per head that Phins’ fans are praying that at least either Lamm or Terron plays this week. The great news is that Robert Hunt looks to make his return! Still, I don’t feel comfortable with Kion Smith starting at left tackle. If Lamm or Terron plays, we should mop up the commanders pretty well.
The commanders aren’t a good pass defense, who has the 32nd pass defense. So, if by some long shot, Hill can’t play, Waddle should be enough. Miami is a much better team than Washington and has handled lesser teams every time, so I’m not concerned, except the weather might be poor. There’s a decent chance of rain and the wins, while low, the gusts are predicted to be around 13 MPH. Bad playing conditions can be a great equalizer.
To me, only sloppy weather AND sloppy play can stop us from beating the Commanders and moving to 9-3! I think we move to 9-3 with 11-3 right after that!
