Dolphins Trade In Peril…Good News?

According to ESPN, a shoulder injury that ended Byron Maxwell’s season last year may have the Dolphins cancelling the trade. They originally reported it was cancelled and now they say it’s on hold till Miami doctors can reevaluating the situation with more diagnostics tests in Florida today as Maxwell couldn’t do a push up or a single bench press!

Could this be a good thing?

Ed Werder is reporting that the trade involves swapping of first round picks as part of the deal!

Without knowing the particulars of the rest of the trade, it’s hard to gauge if this is foolishness or not. But, on face value, two injured players for the this swap and other picks seems like a ludicrous move and shakes ones confidence in the sanity of Tannenbaum.

Yet, again we don’t know all the particulars. Maybe this trade back to #13 is where Miami wants to be in order to get the player they have chosen? Maybe this swap is better than what they would get if they simply traded back? Maybe Werder is wrong about the swap?

And maybe because I’m wearing red, I am Santa Claus?!

This trade is appearing ugly from all angles – not even the best football gambling fans would bet this kind of move inspires much confidence to an already leery fan base.

We have till 4PM to find out what the trade involves…if it actually gets done. Miami already apprears semi-inept, whether justified or not, and it just might be that Maxwell’s bum shoulder save Tannenbaum from a disaster.

***UPDATE***

The Miami medical staff has now cleared Maxwell and the trade is a go!
