The Miami Dolphins are a lock for the playoffs, but what seed they will end up with is the million-dollar question. Incredibly, these last two games will likely determine what the entire season amounts to. It’s fitting that the Dolphins will be facing against the Ravens and the Bills in these last two games. Over the last decade, these two teams have given the Phins some serious problems. The Dolphins can turn the page on their dysfunctional past with authority by knocking off these two thorns in their side.
Getting both wins would be mindblowing, but let’s hope at the very least they take down one of them!
Ravens would be GREAT! Bills are a MUST!!!
If Miami wins their last two games, they will have the #1 seed and a much-needed bye, which can help them get healthy. Why not, right! We are coming off a sweet victory over the Cowboys!
Boy, that would be amazing!
If the Phins win 1 out of the 2 games then they will win the AFC East and earn themselves the #2 seed–still not too shabby!
However, if the Dolphins lose both games, then the best football software is betting Miami will earn the #6 seed. The ugly part of the #6 seed means they would have to play on the road and most likely against the Kansas City Chiefs. Then if Miami wins that game, they would most likely have to go to Buffalo and a win against the Bills would have them headed to Baltimore.
This path to the Super Bowl would probably be close to impossible for the Dolphins to accomplish, so let’s hope it doesn’t play out like that!
Raven is up first and hopefully the first to lose to the Phins!
The Dolphins will be playing the Ravens first in Baltimore and the line opened up at -3 for the Ravens, but it’s moved to -3.5 since Waddle was ruled out of the game. It will be interesting to see if Hunt and Holland can play since Miami will need as much help as possible to give themselves a chance to beat the Ravens. It looks like Hunt won’t play because he’s listed as doubtful, but Holland looks like he has a real chance to return and help stop Lamar.
On defense, the Dolphins have been the best defense in the league since Week 8 when Ramsey got back into the lineup. But they are going to have their hands full with a very potent Ravens offense. Miami always has problems with running QBs and Lamar Jackson is unique and unlike any other running QB in the league. Miami MUST find a way to not only pressure Jackson but also wrap him up or contain him so he can’t run all over us. This will be a tough task, but it’s the key to Miami winning the game.
On offense, Miami needs to first and foremost protect the football because the Ravens are second in the league in takeaways with 26 on the season. The Ravens are not a team that you can get away with coughing up the ball and come away with a win, especially in their house. Miami must lean into the running game because the Ravens are allowing 103.4 yards per game on the ground and have shown some serious weakness in that area over the last couple of games. If the Dolphins run the football a lot and run it well, it will wear out the excellent Ravens’ defense and chew up the clock, keeping Lamar Jackson off the field.
Miami has a real chance to upset Baltimore with clean play, control Lamar’s ground game, and run the ball successfully.
The great news is the Dolphins are in control of their destiny and it starts with how they play tomorrow! What a wonderful way to start the new year that would be for Phins fans!!
What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins news fans’ thoughts on whether Miami can win this game, or will this just be another letdown in a big-time game?
