Jaelen Phillips Done for the Season–Again!

Well, when it rains it pours for the Miami Dolphins! Hey, football gods, “Don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining!” Losing Jaelen Phillips after that awful loss to the Tennesse Titans was a vicious blow to us Phins fans in a long history of cruel twists. The Phins are now 1-3, heading up to the Patriots, desperate for a win without their best pass rusher. So far, we’ve had Tyreek arrested, Tua concussed, Terron, Mostert, Smith hurt… and we still have 3 quarters of the season left to play!

Guess, it can only go up from here? Maybe, maybe not. Remember Hell has nine levels, so who knows if we’ll ever escape?

On that happy note, let’s talk about Phillips.

Phillips gave the bad news to fans today!

Phillips let fans know he was done for the season with a partial tear in the knee on the same leg he tore his Achilles last season in a collision with Dolphins linebacker David Long Jr.

This is the kind of stuff that makes him beloved by the Phins faithful. Phillips is a great kid and talent that makes you root hard for him, but you have to wonder if he’ll ever be the same again. When the same leg takes two years of damage like that, you can bet with the best pay-per-head that it’s not a given he’ll be back to his old self. I sure hope so, of course.

Rookies Kamara & Chop are on deck big time!

The Dolphins will rely more on rookie Mohammed Kamara and Chop Robinson. Kamarma has yet to be active on game day and Chop while he has pop in the pass rush has struggled in the run game. While injured Brandon Chubb will return at some point, it still appears a ways off, which isn’t great news with Miami on the verge of seeing their 2024 Season done in the 1st quarter. I know we look like garbage and the chances are slim to near miraculous to turn it around. I’m talking technically. Win the next two and the Phins would be 3-3. This wouldn’t fix all the issues we’ve seen so far. We haven’t even had the lead in any game this season, which is mindblowing. Still, technically the fat wouldn’t have sung yet. If we lose the next two, maybe even one of the next two, then even the most faithful will put a fork in our chances.

I’ve heard Phins fans keep saying over the last few years, we aren’t allowed nice things. I never believed them, but after 46 years as a Dolphins fan, I’m starting to wonder if they might be right! Go Phins!!!

The Dolphins harbor injury prone players with potential. They even overpay some of them. Guys like Phillips haven’t played enough to justify their pay or our dependence. Phillips should have been traded once he was “well” to someone looking for that “Special” player. Now you are stuck with another CAP problem. Pro football is as much about longevity as it is talent. If you cannot survive a trainwreck level collision week in and week out, you end up like Phillips.
Grier keeps the guys he claims are going to make us great and losses the players that tried to make us great! He needs to go!

Sadly, it’s true. Grier had a laugh over players with injuries a few years back… laughed about the OL depth and talent too… Grier must go whatever happens… only hope we have is for him to be out!!! Can’t stand another season with him running the show!!! Hope all is well, sir!
