Phins Believe Bills Upset Flips Script! But…

The Miami Dolphins locker room believes an upset of the Buffalo Bills in their house could change the trajectory of the 2024 Season. I can’t agree more. A win in Buffalo would certainly change the direction of this season by one win and give an emotional boost. How much though would it change the entire season’s trajectory? We wouldn’t know until the end of the season, but a record of 3-5 has a lot less ‘doom’ attached to it than 2-6. Clearly, it would be a positive boost for team morale.

But if a win is that monumental for this team, then what does a loss or a multi touchdown defeat mean?

I’d say the complete opposite.

An Extreme Deserves an Extreme Response

We are all prepared to enjoy the epic win… if that’s how it plays out. Responding to victory is easy for everyone but the coaches and players.

But what if the Dolphins head up to Buffalo and lose by 14 pts? Surely even the most ‘hopium’ drunk fan would realize that major changes are demanded! No? For me, it would sure be even more crystal clear than it is now. But the only thing that matters is will Dolphins owner Stephen Ross see it that way too?

If Ross doesn’t though see it that way and decides to be ‘patient’, then the Phins fanbase must be clear in the aftermath of yet another defeat to the division champs and yet another crushing letdown of a season, that this franchise is about something other than bringing a winning team to town.

A win this week or how Ross responds to a crushing defeat will tell a ton about this franchise? Are we really on track to have a winning team or is the top brass about really more about comfort in relationship and revenue?

I don’t know for sure the answer about our core values.

Omar Kelly tweeted this:

Let’s hope we don’t hit rock bottom and somehow Grier and Co. are the smartest men in the room. I’m not betting the house on that with the best pay per heads.

If Miami doesn’t pull off the upset, let’s pray Kelly is right about Ross.

The only real hope we have is that Ross loves this franchise and the fanbase enough to make the hard calls to try again to get the Dolphins out of the toilet and heading in the right direction… no matter the cost. Go Phins!!!
