Phins Building A Worthy Dedication to Shula
Brian Flores & Phins are on target to make Shula proud
As a 40-year Miami Dolphins fan, this season is proving to be one of my fondest–ever. The Phins 2020 Season was dedicated to the memory of the great Don Shula, so nothing short of being the best team they could be would make a worthy dedication. Yet, at the start of the season everywhere you looked the predictions weren’t good and the season opened an ugly with an 0-2 record. Then the magic started to spark… and now, the 2020 Dolphins are on the edge of making the great Don Shula proud!
Amen to that!
And if the 2020 Season indeed ends up honoring Shula, it will bring literal tears to my eyes.
Brian Flores appears to be the hero Phin fans needed
I’ve spouted many times how much ‘Shoes’ meant to me growing up fatherless. The thought of a subpar season dedicated to him was painful. This sharp turn to excellence has been riveting to say the least not just for the enjoyment of winning, but also because it is doing the Shula dedication justice.
While I’ve overflowed about my deep admiration of Brian Flores over and his coaching attributes, philosophy, and demeanour, this will be my favorite thing about him.
Phins V.S. Chargers is a poster child for the 2020 Season
- Off the scrap heap RB Salvon Ahmed seamlessly filled the starting roll and was a real factor in the win. Flores can teach and coach up players like few I’ve seen.
- Tua continues to justify the move from Fitzpatrick and prove Flores is the smartest man in the room.
- The defense plays another game with a Top 5 performance.
- Miami strapped with missing a few key pieces and coaches doesn’t miss a beat.
- Both offensively and defensively the schemes and plays calls are top notch.
- Flores’s culture of discipline has the Phins with only 3 penalties on the night. Miami has committed the 4th least infractions on the season.
Amazing! Amazing Amazing!
Can you believe the Phins are the 5th highest-ranked team in the AFC! Playoffs?! Miami is also only a half a game out of 1st place in the division and a game and a half ahead of the Patriots. The Phins are making the pay per head reviews like AcePerHead.com, pay through the nose. Yes, there is a lot of football left to play, but come on… even the most cautious fans must optimistic!
With three winnable games against the Broncos, Jets, and Bengals, the Phins could be 9-3 heading into the final month of the season. If this does end up the case, even one win in December would give Miami 10 wins and a trip to the playoffs.
Someone pinch me!
Man-oh-man, doesn’t that sound like a sweet christmas present! Go Phins!!!
BTW: I did a full film review of Tua v.s. Arizona, but wasn’t able to get the article out on it. If interested here it is.
