Phins hired Vic Fangio!… But some reports say not so fast!
The news that the Miami Dolphins landed defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was a breath of fresh air and gave great vibes for the 2023 Season. I thought for sure Eagles or 49ers would get his services. But, when the news came that Miami had reeled him in, I was floored with excitement. I did my studies all day yesterday and loved what I learned about Fangio…
… Then some news hit today that it was only an agreement in principle, and Fangio might be looking at a job with another franchise!
Fangio or not to Fangio, that is the question?

And here is the other in all its groin kicking ‘awesomeness’.Now, this doesn’t mean he isn’t going to pick the Dolphins. But both men spoke with Fangio and the fact he said nothing has been decided or finalized is a bit weird if was 100% intending to go to the Dolphins. No?!
Clearly, there are some hurdles left to jump before Fangio IS the Phins defensive coordinator. Again, this doesn’t mean Fangio isn’t coming, but there is certainly some legit ambiguity on if actually is.

Also, an old tweet from Sliver was dredged up that adds fuel to the fire.
So, the ties to San Fran and the Shanahan’s is tight indeed. Given that 49ers defensive coordinator Demeco Ryans is the first choice for the Houston Texans job and will interview this week, should give Phins fans a little pause.
Now, on the good side, plenty who reported the hire are sticking by their report. Of course, Josh McDaniel was announced as the new Colts Head Coach and pulled out at the eleventh hour. So, it’s not a sure bet with the best price per head at this point…
… Still, I’ll keep on hoping we reel Fangio in because it would be a big letdown and ugly look for the team if he isn’t. Go Phins!!!
