Phins Light Up ‘Patsies’ 34-15! Pack Next!
Dolphins win over the Patriots keeps postseason hope alive
The Miami Dolphins did what was expected in Week 12 and blew the doors off the New England Patriots 34-15 moving them to 5-6 on the season. The win was a team effort, driven by both the offense and defense doing their jobs and the whole team playing disciplined football. It was so strange and enjoyable to see the Dolphins play smart football as the Patriots beat themselves as penalty machines.
Amazingly, Tua is now perfect for his career at 7-0 against the Patriots and this one was a monster statistically. So, with three straight wins and playoff hopes alive, the Phins must keep winning out to close the deal.
Tua again led the Phins offensive explosion
While the win this week was expected, Miami must flip the script in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. Both the best pay per heads and the Phins recent history say the odds aren’t good to notch the victory, on the road, in the cold, with a short week to prepare. But for now, Phins fans should enjoy this win, which was mostly smooth sailing.
One thing is for sure, I don’t know how this season will end, but I do know that Tua Tagovailoa, aside from health concerns, has proven himself to be a top tier quarterback…
…And this week Tua added another bullet point to the list of reasons why.
Tua had one heck of a game!
The Patriots aren’t good I know but check Mathew Stafford’s number against the Patriots.
Stafford is a top talent who won the Super Bowl couple of years ago, and he posted very similar numbers to Tua against the Patriots. And since the Rams also have a bevy of high talent receivers like the Dolphins, so you can’t use that excuse to dismiss Tua’s production. Stafford was 18 of 27 for 294 yards with 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions against New England. Nearly identical, Tua was 29 of 40 for 317 yards with 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions against the Patriots.
Stafford did have more yards per catch and Tua more pass attempts, but the cat was skinned the same way. I make this comparison to show the ‘Tua sucks’ talk is ridiculous. I get that fans might want the Mahomes or Allen’s of the world, but just because you don’t have that skillset doesn’t mean you can’t lead a football team to the top of the NFL. Look at how Stafford languished in Detroit all those years until he had the right team and coaching staff around him.
So, I’m not counting the injury history because that’s certainly an ever-present concern. But the good news for the Dolphins and Phin fans is at least–at the very least, Tua is proving himself to be quality talent by leading the Dolphins to wins. If he can stay healthy and keep performing at a high level, then playoffs or not, Chris Grier being fired or not, this will be some good news to carry into the offseason.
Let’s just hope there will be plenty of Dolphins good news to go along with Tua having a good season for fans to smile about! Go Phins!!!
MJ,
Thanksgiving in Green Bay will be tough! This team does not play well on Thursday Night Football historically! We just don’t perform and tend to be “flat” on short weeks like this. However, 3 straight wins hopefully means we have some “swagger” and “mojo” going. If we beat Green Bay, I would not consider it a real upset, but it would be a “significant” win. I am not concerned about our offense with Tua, but rather how our defense will hold up. Defense focus #1; stop Jacobs! If he has a big day running the football the chances are not good. Walker pulled a hamstring vs. Pats late in the game but Dotson came in and did fine and even got a pick. Finally, do you think that this team will see Chubb at all this season? Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
