Phins Make Pair of Epic Trades!!!
Phins pulled off two HUGE trades today!!!
Talk about a dizzying day of moves from the Miami Dolphins! The Phins not only traded out of the 3rd Overall Pick with the San Francisco 49ers, but they then traded back up into the 6th Overall with the Philadelphia Eagles. There will be plenty of time to speculate what this all means, but first things first… where do the Dolphins stand right now!
Let’s layout both the Phins trade moves:
Phins are THE movers and shakers in the 2021 Draft
The Phins traded their 3rd Overall Pick for the 49ers 1st Round pick (12th Overall), 1st and 3rd in 2022, and their 2021 1st Round pick.
Very, very Sweet!
Then the Dolphins made a VERY surprising move to trade back up with the Eagles. Miami gave up their 12th Overall, 123rdOverall (4th Rounder), and next year’s 1st Round Pick for Philly’s 6th Overall Pick and 156 Overall (5th Rounder).
Hmmm, that one will be talked about right up until the draft.
This gives Miami plenty of ammo in the 2021 Draft with the 6th, 18th, 36th, 50th, 82nd, 157th, 232nd, and the 260th. In 2022, despite giving their top pick to the Eagles, the Phins will still have a Day 1 selection with San Francisco’s 1st Round pick, as well as an extra 3rd Round Pick from the 49ers. In 2023, they will have both their own and the 49ers 1st Round picks.
Nothing but respect and love for the moves
I’m still trying to draw it all in, but my drawing from the hip reaction is they are either looking a Kyle Pitts or maybe a quarterback if the right one drops to them. It has to be something special because they essentially traded two 1st to pick a player at the 6th spot.
Heck, given how active Chris Grier is, Miami is a good bet with pay-per-head sportsbook sites to even trade back again… if one of the QBs drops and a desperate team blows them out of the water!
Who knows with these riverboat dealers!
Man, Chris Grier has shown himself to be quite the dealer. Of course, Miami needs to nail the picks, but all these moves over the last couple of years have put the Phins in a prime position to find success. Man, these Dolphins sure are an exciting bunch! Loving it! Go Phins!!!

There will be all kinds of blue chip talent at 6. It will be all gone by 12. Smart move
I’m still trying to feel out the move up to 6… loved the trade back. Thing is they are dropping two1sts and moving from the 4th to 5th RD… that’s a lot of firepower for one player. If the player ends up elite or HOFer okay. But, not if they are good or heaven forbid less than that. It is risky. I don’t believe a WR is worth it. A generational TE (if that’s what Pitts is) okay… or a good QB… But Sewell or Chase doesn’t float my boat. And I’m just not sure about the others…. let me know what you think. I’m studying the top 30 players now. Lawrence is #1… Pitts or Wilson #2? A QB at #3! Pitts or WR at #4? 5 seems Sewell. So… I’m still running it through my head.
, Diego.
Wild, wild, wild.
