Phins Must Avoid ‘Trap Game’ w/ Bronocs!

It’s very hard to find a concern for the Phins vs. Denver

The Miami Dolphins are very strong favorites to beat the Denver Broncos at home, so strong it’s hard to find convincing reasons they can lose this week. I’m really stumped about finding legit ways the Phins can end up on the losing side of this contest…

…But, this type of feeling is a perfect formula for a ‘trap game’, which is a game you are almost guaranteed to win, but under-prepare for and end up losing because of it.

Now, I’m not saying WILL be a ‘trap game’ because the Broncos gave up 35 points and 388 total yards to the Commanders who have Sam Howell at quarterback! Considering what Miami has in firepower and the likely return of Terron Armstead, it’s not looking pretty for the Broncos’ chances even to the most cynical Phins fan!

It really does feel like it’s a foregone conclusion that the Dolphins will move to 3-0!

The Dolphins have every reason to win this week!

I’ll give you that Sean Payton and Russell Wilson have put up plenty of points and only lost by a total of 6 pts. The Dolphins have struggled vs. mobile quarterback and his deep ball is as good as ever. Receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutherland are dangerous and our DBs are suspect with Eli Apple getting starting reps.

Also, it looks like it will be a rainy day in Miami with plenty of cloud cover. So, the opponents won’t fry in the sun and the passing game for Miami will be a little tricky if it does indeed end up raining. But, it will be raining for the Broncos too, so this could end up hurting the Broncos as much as the Phins.

But, for me, it’s about Vance Joesph. He wasn’t good here and he hasn’t done much to change my opinion of him since. The talk about a lack of adjustments from Joseph and that he wasn’t Payton’s first choice has already almost become a roar.

This isn’t good for the confidence of either the defensive coordinator or the players.

Broncos defense & coordinator look dead in the water already

Here is a list of some keys to why the Broncos’ defense is in trouble:

  1. Broncos lead the NFL through two weeks with 12 defensive penalties.
  2. Broncos have a depleted secondary.
  3. Opponents are five of seven inside the 20-yard line for turning their drives into touchdowns.
  4. The Broncos are blitzing like crazy, and the blitz hasn’t worked against us in the least. What’s worse for them is they are averaging three seconds between snap and pressure the second-slowest in the league.

Clearly, the Dolphins are a great bet with the best pay-per-head to take down the Broncos and move to 3-0 en route to their critical division game against the Bills up in Buffalo…

…If they can avoid the ‘trap game’.
