Phins MUST Finish Off the Jets!!!
After acquiring future Hall of Fame QB Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets were the media darling heading into the season. The Jets even swooped in and landed Running Back Dalvin Cook, who most price per head sites had the Dolphins as the odds-on favorite to sign him. However, it went down quicker than a lead zeppelin when Rodgers got hurt in the first series of their first game against the Bills. Now, the Miami Dolphins are heading up to play the 4-6 Jets and can humanly and mercifully put them out of their misery by beating them, so their franchise and their fans can start dreaming about all the hope in 2024!
Then we Phins fans can focus on finishing off the Bills to secure the division and some home games in the postseason.
McDaniel is heading in one direction, Saleh another
The Jets Coach Robert Saleh coached with McDaniels in San Francisco and has proved to be a decent Head Coach for the Jets and defensive mind. The Dolphins split their two games with the Jets and Salah last year, however, the Dolphins didn’t have Tua play in either of those games, and Skylar Thompson played in both of those games at QB.
This time it should be much different!
The tables have turned on the Jets who will run out their third-string QB Tim Boyle to start this Friday after the announcement that Zack Wilson is finally been benched. The desperate Jets are clearly looking for a spark. Will it be one or not, we’ll see soon enough. I don’t know if I would rather play Boyle or Wilson, since Wilson hasn’t played well it may actually have been better to face him than Boyle who is a bit of an unknown quantity.
Either way, there’s no reason or excuse for us not to beat them!
The line opened Monday at -7.5 for the Dolphins and then after the QB switch was announced the line quickly jumped to -10. Chalk that up as yet another double-digit spread the lines makers are putting on the Dolphins this season. Sure, on paper, the Dolphins are the better team, but Miami just had a hard-fought game against the Raiders, and going on the road, against a division rival that has a very solid defense could be a recipe for an upset.
It shouldn’t be… but, it could.
Miami’s offense needs to wake up and torch the Jets!
The Phins need to play a lot better on offense against the Jets and stop turning the ball over like they are playing for the other team. Turning the ball over 3 times on offense makes it hard to win a game, and if they do that against the Jets it could very well cost them a victory.
It had better not!
One random suggestion: Miami seems to consistently win the coin toss and choose to get the ball in the second half and start the game on defense. Since Miami consistently gives up points on the first drive, maybe we switch it up? I‘m hoping McDaniel gets the ball first, the offense in sync right from the start, strikes first with points on the board, and never looks back. I’m getting worn out from all these tight games! These 2023 Phins were built for offense and big-time points. Let’s get it going score right away and use it to get in the rhythm for the rest of the game.
Against inferior teams, Miami has appeared complacent complacent, and sloppy lately. They must clean it up and not give these other teams a chance to win at the end of the game. Let’s get back to blowing out bad teams like we did early in the season!
There’s no reason the Dolphins should allow a team like the Jets to hang in the game with a chance to tie or win in the fourth quarter! Come on Phins, put us in a great position by moving to 8-3 and making this the blackest Friday for the New York Jets by ending their season!
What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins news fans’ thoughts on this upcoming matchup?
