Phins vs Titans Is Revenge or Die!
There’s no reason why Miami shouldn’t win this Monday Night game
The Miami Dolphins have come out of the gates cold, ice cold going 1-2 over and losing their starting quarterback for a quarter of the season. But, the season isn’t lost, not yet. The same can’t be said if they lose Monday Night to the Tennesse Titans, who are 0-3 and struggling hard in key positions. If Miami can go 2-2 and then pull off a win vs the Patriots next week, they’ll enter the Bye Week 3-2 with Tua, Chubb, and Isaiah Wynn returning soon after. They could easily salvage the season… could. It must start on Prime Time because 1-3 is a brutal spot to be in considering how tough the end stretch is.
The good news is the Titans are all sorts of ugly and prime for another loss.
Let’s look at how ugly they are and how Miami can capitalize on the Titans’ weaknesses.
The Titans are playing small
The Titans, quarterback, right tackle, cornerback, and defensive tackle depth are a disaster. Miami can and should capitalize big this week at these spots if they want to win.
Stud cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who Tennesse paid a bundle to acquire is off to a horrible start. Is it a player who was only good in his prior system, or just growing pains in a new one? Either way, the Dolphins aren’t facing the player who harassed them with the Chiefs last season. He certainly could bounce back this week… or not.
Also, on defense, the Titans have two stud defensive tackles in Sweat and Simmons, but they don’t have much after that with two of them on I.R. and poor production from the rest. If Miami can run the ball with Jaylen Wright and Devon Achane and tire out the big studs, maybe the young runners should rip off some chunk plays when the Sweat and Simmons take a breather or are exhausted. We all know Miami must run the football more, but bet with the best pay-per-head that this game will make it even more important.
Titans offense is stinking it up every week!
The two most important positions on offense are quarterback and tackle. Titans made a smart pick with monstrous JC Latham who has been rated one of the top rookies from the 2024 Draft, but veteran right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere is playing the exact opposite and he’s a black hole dragging everything down with 3 sacks and 10 hurries in 3 games. The Titans look ready to shuffle the deck chairs, but the options are limited. Jaelen Phillips and Chop Robinson are primed to take advantage. This could be the game where they go off!
Then there is quarterback Ryan Levi, who has been the gift that keeps on giving with big, game-changing turnovers every week. Holland, Ramsey, and Poyer could easily be next on his list to get a gift interception, turning the momentum for a needed Phins win. The offensive line, lack of run game that the Titans are known for, and Levi still being green is a bad brew for the young signal caller. The Phins defense has all the tools to be a difference maker and take control.
However you slice it, the Dolphins have all the tools on offense and defense to win despite starting a quarterback they signed last week. Crazy! But, if we can get this win hope is still on the table and the 2024 Season can be a good one! Wishful thinking? Maybe. Either way, go Phins!!!
Sorry to say this but just another Miami failure season. All the hype in the world won’t win a game for them I see MAYBE another 6-10 ending if they are lucky. I think I have the right to criticize after all they have been disappointing me for over 40 years.
You are right! This is the end of the season and anothe regime, Teddy… we’ve been here how many times? You have every right… this organziation is trash… love the Dolphins and the history… but we are a joke. Not sure how long till we aren’t either and that’s tough!!! Hope all is well, sir… wished we could speak about better times.
This will not be a game unvested fans will enjoy! If you are a Dol-Fan or a Titan Touter it is different. Both teams are in trouble and need a win. Neither team has a good QB. The Dolphins defense is rebuilding but should be able to keep the game manageable. If we kick those field goals and the Chaeta can make something magic happen out side of his car, we can win this game. It will be close and it will be ugly, but a win is a win.
Hey, sir!!! Great to hear from you… wished it were in better time.. this is another master class in disaster. We wet the bed VERY hard… I think this is the beginning of the end for this regime.
MJ,
Horrible mistake not signing a quality veteran QB in training camp or pre-season! I said we could not go into the regular season with Thompson or White as our back-up QB!!! Grier needs to try and get another quality veteran guard and interior DT if possible. This might be hard to do now since the season is so early and everyone is literally still in it! I think the team needs to start thinking moving past Tua going forward! I like the kid, but he is not going to make four (4) more years and his new contract. Team should have Huntley 4-6 weeks ago. McDaniels needs to “dumb” down the offense to help Boyle or Huntley manage the game. Less motions, last minute changes. Focus has to be on execution and everyone doing their jobs! We will see over the next few weeks what kind of HC we have in McDaniel. Titan, Pats, and Browns are all three highly winnable games. Trade rumors for Trey Lance. Kid has not blossomed but has real potential. Maybe in our offense with time he could really do something. Either way, today’s NFL QB has to be able to extend plays with his legs!! So hard, as I really like the man Tua, but we need to start planning for someone else to lead this team. He is too fragile and long-term problems could arise if he keeps playing! Your thoughts MJ. Thank you!
UHHHHggg… McD tried to make mobile Snoop a pocket passer… what a disaster!!! ALL I can say at this stage is Grier needs to go and take McD with him… we are cooked, brother… we need so much to get this right and it will take years… and Grier isn’t the guy to do it… no, sir!!! Can Ross find good GM and would a good GM come here to work with him?
For me, Stephen… the whole thing is broke… we missed the new offensive NFL cycle and we are built to fight the last war on offense and defense… we are old and expensive… this build and regime is cooked in my opinion, sir!!!
