There’s no reason why Miami shouldn’t win this Monday Night game
The Miami Dolphins have come out of the gates cold, ice cold going 1-2 over and losing their starting quarterback for a quarter of the season. But, the season isn’t lost, not yet. The same can’t be said if they lose Monday Night to the Tennesse Titans, who are 0-3 and struggling hard in key positions. If Miami can go 2-2 and then pull off a win vs the Patriots next week, they’ll enter the Bye Week 3-2 with Tua, Chubb, and Isaiah Wynn returning soon after. They could easily salvage the season… could. It must start on Prime Time because 1-3 is a brutal spot to be in considering how tough the end stretch is.
The good news is the Titans are all sorts of ugly and prime for another loss.
Let’s look at how ugly they are and how Miami can capitalize on the Titans’ weaknesses.
The Titans are playing small
The Titans, quarterback, right tackle, cornerback, and defensive tackle depth are a disaster. Miami can and should capitalize big this week at these spots if they want to win.
Stud cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who Tennesse paid a bundle to acquire is off to a horrible start. Is it a player who was only good in his prior system, or just growing pains in a new one? Either way, the Dolphins aren’t facing the player who harassed them with the Chiefs last season. He certainly could bounce back this week… or not.
Also, on defense, the Titans have two stud defensive tackles in Sweat and Simmons, but they don’t have much after that with two of them on I.R. and poor production from the rest. If Miami can run the ball with Jaylen Wright and Devon Achane and tire out the big studs, maybe the young runners should rip off some chunk plays when the Sweat and Simmons take a breather or are exhausted. We all know Miami must run the football more, but bet with the best pay-per-head that this game will make it even more important.
Titans offense is stinking it up every week!
The two most important positions on offense are quarterback and tackle. Titans made a smart pick with monstrous JC Latham who has been rated one of the top rookies from the 2024 Draft, but veteran right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere is playing the exact opposite and he’s a black hole dragging everything down with 3 sacks and 10 hurries in 3 games. The Titans look ready to shuffle the deck chairs, but the options are limited. Jaelen Phillips and Chop Robinson are primed to take advantage. This could be the game where they go off!
Then there is quarterback Ryan Levi, who has been the gift that keeps on giving with big, game-changing turnovers every week. Holland, Ramsey, and Poyer could easily be next on his list to get a gift interception, turning the momentum for a needed Phins win. The offensive line, lack of run game that the Titans are known for, and Levi still being green is a bad brew for the young signal caller. The Phins defense has all the tools to be a difference maker and take control.
However you slice it, the Dolphins have all the tools on offense and defense to win despite starting a quarterback they signed last week. Crazy! But, if we can get this win hope is still on the table and the 2024 Season can be a good one! Wishful thinking? Maybe. Either way, go Phins!!!
