Rex Ryan staying in Division Means Trouble for the Dolphins
The Buffalo Bills just hired their new coach, and unfortunately for the Dolphins, it will be a coach that knows the Dolphins very well. Rex Ryan will be taking his brilliant defensive mind to Buffalo so he can stay in the AFC East and continue his quest to beat Bill Belichick and the Patriots, harass his former team, the New York Jets, like the ghost of Christmas past, and help continue the Bills recent dominance over the Miami Dolphins.
In Joe Philbin’s 3 seasons the Dolphins have played the Bills 6 times, and he has only managed to beat the Bills 2 of those times. Until last season the Bills have not had a winning season since 2004, so it is not like the Dolphins lost 4 times to some perennial playoff team. The biggest reason for Miami’s lack of success against the Bills is because the Bills, according to most free bookie software sites, have one of the best Defensive Line units in all of football. In addition to the Bills being very dominant in the trenches on defense, the Dolphins have been extremely bad on the offensive line.
Unfortunately for Miami, the Bills hired a coach that not only is familiar with Miami’s style of play, but that is also a certified genius on the defensive side of the ball. You can sure bet that one of the main reasons that Rex decided to choose the Bills over other possible teams was because he was salivating at the chance to be able to add his defensive schemes to a unit that is already very talented. The Bills have a hands-down better defense than the Jets have, so it will be scary to see what Rex will be able to do with this already talented unit.
This basically means that the Bills are going to continue to be a thorn in the Dolphins heel. So not only will the Dolphins still have to deal with the AFC East powerhouse New England Patriots, but they will also have to struggle to beat the Bills on two different occasions during the season. This recent move by the Bills looks like a perfect fit for their organization, and will most likely at least make the Bills even better on defense, which ultimately means this will be an even harder match-up for the Dolphins next season.

Philbin has lead 3 consecutive late season swoons and 3 consecutive .500 seasons (sprinkle in a 7-9 in there).
Although I feel Ireland was much to blame for the lack of talent on this team I blame Philbin for the teams poor performance in the second half of each season, that is pure coaching my friends.
Philbin will never outcoach RRyan, nor any other coach, and certainly will never outcoach Belichick.
How this guy keeps his job…well, Ross is the owner, nough said.
Just one last thought- they are saying coach Philbin mat not sign his extension, well maybe Mr.Ross ought to consider coach Fox. he is without a doubt THE best coach available today and shouldn’t be ignored!
but the good news is we won’t have to worry about the Jets as much!
well rex maybe scary good on defense but he just doesn’t get offence . and that’s what buffalo needs. and he’s lousy with QB’S. can’t pick one, can’t coach one. i’m really not worried.
