Second Half of the Season
The NFL is just like any other sport, where teams look like world beaters one game, and then the next game look like they have not practiced together for a month. At the moment the Dolphins are riding a hot steak, where they have won 4 out of their last 5 games, and are coming off the best performance of the season last week against the Chargers. Now the Dolphins will be looking to take that momentum into Detroit and see if they can improve their record to 6-3.
I think this is going to be a very tight defense game, but let’s actually assume they lose. The AFC has a very crowded race for the playoffs, with 11 teams having an above .500 record, which means every game here on out is going to really count. However, if the Dolphins do lose in Detroit, it is not a total disaster for their playoff hopes. For starters, Detroit is from the NFC, so this game will have no influence on Miami’s conference record of 4-2. Also with 8 games remaining, and a 5 and 3 record, most football gambling fans would say that Miami can probably afford to lose 3 games, and still have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs.
Miami’s 8 remaining games are Detroit, Buffalo, Denver, Jets, Baltimore, Patriots, Minnesota, and Jets. If the Dolphins lose to Detroit that would mean we have 2 more losses we can afford. Most football gambling fans would pick Denver and the Patriots as the two losses. This would mean that Miami has to beat Buffalo at home, sweep the crashing and burning Jets, a below average Vikings team at home, and probably the most pivotal game against Baltimore at home.
On paper this seems like the most logical thing to happen, however on any given Sunday the Dolphins can play like world beaters and beat anyone in this league. But on any given Sunday the Dolphins can play terrible and lose to any of these teams. If the Dolphins can somehow get a victory in Detroit, this should be considered as a bonus victory, and also mean that this team is for real. I also think that Miami can win one of the games against Denver or New England, but will also probably lose 1 of the 3 games between the Jets and the Bills. What does the rest of phins fans think about how the Dolphins will finish off their remaining 8 games?
Miami Dolphins loss to the Lions that’s a done deal! Time to focus on the Bills this Thursday. We need Red Zone success, We need to play 60 minutes full minutes.
Tannehill is the man but I think Mat Moore need some action also for deep ball throwing?? He can make those throws. The Fins may have to play Moore on some trick plays???
Keys to beating the Bills is play more physical against them.
