Spotlights for Phins 2nd Preseason Game

What should Phins fans keep their eyes on against the Falcons?

The Miami Dolphins will play their second of three preseason games Saturday at 7 PM when they host the Atlanta Falcons. Along with the added Regular Season game, there is also one less Preseason Game. So will the starters get the lion share of their reps and play into the 2nd Half this week or the next? I have a feeling that the 3rd game will be the main dress rehearsal where the starters get extended playing time because they have an off week after that before they start the regular season.

But, we’ll see real soon how it all plays out!

Clearly, one Phins’ performance will be front and center

Obviously, the biggest thing that needs to be seen is some improvement on the offensive line, mainly from Austin Jackson. M.J. has already gone over his poor performance in immense detail. Unfortunately, there probably isn’t a quick fix for him, so really we can only hope that his technique improves as well as his play each week. On a side note, another poor performance should put the Miami brass on notice to start thinking of getting another Left Tackle in the building. Yes, they traded for Greg Little with the Panthers for a 7th RD pick, but does anyone feel great about him starting if Jackson doesn’t improve?

So, with Miami loaded at wide receiver, they could use someone as trade bait to get a legitimate Left Tackle before the season starts. Not saying this will be the case, but just in case, this could be an option.

We should expect Tua to improve even more every week

Another key to look for is can Tua get Miami in the end zone for the first time this preseason? He started the last game with a three and out, but then followed that up with a 7 play drive for 60 yards and a field goal. His last series of the day was a 13 play drive that went 52 yards but ended with an ill-thrown interception. Tua took a risk, which is a good sign, however this time it didn’t pay off. It would also be nice to see him with the starting receivers healthy and active for this game to really have the chance to get the full potential out of this offense.

Defense will be the backbone of the 2021 Phins

On defense, we played very well in the first half, but our depth got torched by a young running and passing QB in Justin Fields. The main goal on defense this week should just be playing a more complete game. This is the time for our depth players to make an impact and give themselves a legitimate chance to make the roster.

The best bookie PPH free trail service on the market has the Dolphins as a strong favorite at -5. Even though it’s just a preseason game, a victory would still be a plus in the moral department. There is no reason why Miami can’t get better from last week and finish the game with player improvement and a victory.

The Falcons have a quality offense, but their defense is still the weak part of their team. Miami should get a good test for their defense and a little break in competition on offense to build confidence. This game will be an interesting watch for sure!

What do the Miami Dolphins news fans think about the game week?

Can the Miami Dolphins show player improvement and get the win this week against the Atlanta Falcons?

We need a new left tackle. You just cannot teach strength. among his many deficiencies Jackson is bullied too much. He just is not strong enough. We must trade for a left tackle or pick one of the tackles released by other teams. Why is it that it seems we never have a good offensive line. How many years has it been. ??? We now see Tanehill excelling because he finally has a good offensive line in Tennessee. That is something he never had in Miami.
The Chiefs recognized that they needed to upgrade theirs and they did so. ( Or so they tell us) but the Dolphins still cannot get a good O-line…… just frustrated. If this was something new I could take it, but this many years with the same problem……… food for thought.

Good pre-game posting. The o-line needs to develop some chemistry! Tua must show us the prtect the ball side of his immense talent. The wide receivers need to be showcased. The Defense looks good and we hope it looks like it is starting to Jell not Jell-0. The secondary looked very good. I hope they will continue to impress me. It would be nice to see a second half running exhibition!

I wonder how much time Brissett will get? He looked pretty good in the last game. We don’t weant Tua to get jellous!

Jimmy pretty much summed it up. Trying to get that Oline vid out today… but, they did well, Van. It was kindley in the run game and Jackson all day. I’m interested in seeing if we get a miracle from Little. Wanted to do a Tua vid, but I guess I’ll mash both weeks together. We do need to see a better run game… NE is going to be grinders and we need some kinda’ run game balance us out. Brissett had the backups and was pushed off the spot most of the time. I’m interested in seeing him this week. Falcons aren’t as fierce as the Bears front… Grady though is a beast.
