The Dolphins will be entering the new league season in March with little cap space, however, they have quite a few expensive players that could all be shown the door, considering almost all of them have not played at a level that would coincide with their expensive contracts. That list includes Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson, Cortland Finnegan, Randy Starks, Dannell Ellerbe, Nate Garner, Philip Wheeler, and Mike Wallace. If all of these players are cut at the correct times based on their contract stipulations, then Miami can save roughly $30 million in cap room.
Luckily for Dawn Aponte, Dennis Hickey, and Mike Tannenbaum, this should be an easy decision on everyone accept for Mike Wallace. I will make this very simple for our organization, get rid of all of them accept Mike Wallace, he is the only one that was productive. The rest of these guys are not getting any younger, and their best years are behind them. Hartline and Gibson were basically nonexistent this season, Finnegan has been battling injuries for the last few years and is contemplating retirement, Starks has been in the league for 11 years, which is like a dinosaur, and he is starting to play like a dinosaur as well, Ellerbe missed the whole season, and did not even come close to the production sports gambling fans were hoping for, Garner is merely a backup guy, and Wheeler is way overpaid, and frankly not very good. Again Mike Wallace was the only player that sports gambling fans could argue that at least produced plays and 10 touchdowns, however, he may be a bit too outspoken for this organization’s liking.

These cuts need to be made and should be made because this team still has holes to fill, and between free-agency, and the draft they will have the opportunity to get better. However, they will need to have cap space so they can afford to get better, by paying for top talent. They will also need to have another solid draft. Hickey nailed his first two picks, however, the rest of the players that he drafted, the jury is still out on them. The other positive is that Hickey did a good job of finding undrafted talent so most free bookie software fans would think he may able to uncover a few more undrafted gems. What does the rest of phins fans think about cutting all this dead weight from the team, and give a boost to Miami’s war chest?
