The Dolphins have had 8 days of training camp so far, and they play their first exhibition game this upcoming Friday. Time is moving fast, and before sports gambling fans realize it, opening day will be here. As training camp and the pre-season progress, an important thing to keep track of is injuries.
There were already quite a few players who sat out of Monday’s practice due to injuries such as Stephen Williams (ankle), Pat Devlin (hamstring), Jalil Brown (knee), Charles Clay (knee), and Caleb Sturgis (groin). Well after Monday’s practice we can add a few more names to the growing list of injured players; Olivier Vernon (undisclosed), Michael Egnew (possible concussion), Gator Hoskins (hamstring) and Nate Garner (right forearm). If that was not enough, there were also players that practiced, but were limited, such as Mike Wallace (hamstring), Brian Hartline (undisclosed), Lamar Miller (unknown), and Matt Moore (shoulder).
This is football so players are going to get hurt, and the more important aspect of the injury is the severity of it. Fortunately for the Phins, all the above injuries appear to be minor, and should not have any effect on their availability come opening day. But all these injuries will be worth watching since all it takes is a little tweak here or there to cause a minor injury to turn into a major season-ending injury.

On a bit of a more positive note on the injury front, center Mike Pouncey has told me that he is already running, and his goal is to be medically cleared for week 1. After watching Pouncey decisively complete his ladder drill in practice Monday, which is all hip movement, it appears that Pouncey is definitely ahead of schedule, and may achieve his goal.
Knowshon Moreno who was also doing some rehab today that involved rope jumping, appears to be on schedule to be ready for the opening game. However, considering that he came into the OTA’s a bit overweight and out of shape, it would be wise to take it nice and slow with Moreno’s workload. There is nothing worse than rushing a player back into the line-up when he is not in shape or physically ready.
It will be interesting to see how healthy the Dolphins are after they make it through their pre-season games. Hopefully, the Dolphins can stay relatively healthy and wisely manage any player injuries that do arise.
