The Phins Lackluster Season Finale

Another Phins Season where the final can only bring a morale victory

So the Miami Dolphins 2021 Season was the ultimate rollercoaster season that ending in an all too familiar crash and burn of disappointment! Just when the Dolphins get you all warm and cozy, they go for the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom ‘kali ma’ and rip your heart out… and this time it was our former quarterback doing the ripping.

Miami went into the game with their playoff destiny in their own hands. How did they respond? They followed the same old Dolphins script and put up an all-around stinker in the most critical moment.

Two decades of team franchise failure keep rolling on….

Not only did Tua play poorly, but the entire team played poorly, with Miami getting run over by the Titans backup running back. When push came to shove, Miami just couldn’t hang with a playoff caliber team. Knocked out of the playoffs because of the loss and other unfavorable results from other games, and now will finish off the season at home against the Patriots with the Phins only able to get a moral victory by defeating New England. Sadly, they can’t even play the spoiler this year as the Patriots are a lock for the playoffs.

The various best sportsbook software sites have the Dolphins as a big home underdog at +7. Clearly the odds makers once again have zero faith in the Dolphins and feel they have packed it in for the last game. At the very least, hopefully the Dolphins can give a final strong effort and find a way to win and sweep the Patriots this season, which is something we haven’t done in ages.

Still… the Patriots are once again going to the playoffs and the Dolphins are a non factor.

For a moral victory to be remotely possible, Miami must stop the running game of the Patriots, especially since you know Belichick is going to want to help out his rookie QB- Chris Grier please take note! So, expect the Pats to lean heavily on the running game, especially since the Dolphins run defense was bulldozed last week.

Pats use the run game to support their rookie QB… Us, not so much

On offense, Tua will need to make some significant improvements from last game. Sure you can throw in the fact that the weather was a factor and definitely affected his grip on the ball, but the weather isn’t always going to be sunny and perfect. Tua has at least shown some progress this season, and deserves another season next year as the QB, but with a lot more help in the running game and offensive line.

However, Tua must take the next step and win the big game, which last week was… and the game to end last season against the Bills was.

Even though this upcoming game is just for bragging rights for the Dolphins, it would be nice for Miami to finish off with a win against their division rivals and end the season with a winning record. However, to do that they are going to have to beat a playoff team, which won’t be an easy task. Hopefully there will be a lot of changes this offseason, so a victory is always a great way to finish off what many will agree was still a very disappointing season.

What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans thoughts on if Miami can pull off the upset victory for the season finale?

I was reading the Sun Sentinel this morning. Hyde is acting like he wasn’t all in on Tua! I posted right here that I was not a Tua fan. I liked Herbert. I didn’t know he was a superstar, but I knew he had the makings of a good NFL quarterback. Before that I liked Lamar Jackson. I didn’t think he was Dan Marino, but I liked his mobility and arm strength. Grier took Tua – a dud! The numbers show his dink pass stats as being Brady like – Yes yes ! His numbers show he is close in ratings to Mack Jones! This just shows that analytics will never replace watching players perform during the games. Tua is clueless under pressure! He panics. He does not know when to run with the ball. He is good for two turnovers during any game! The list goes on. He is so bad that hiring the criminal from Houston is an upgrade!
Look how many players we dump, and they go on to be solid performers with other teams! Why is that? We traded a bunch of good to very good players for draft picks back when we blew the team up. We parlayed this years draft picks and still ended up with a couple of good players. Is it Grier that is the problem? Is it Ross that is the problem? I think Ross should take the team public and make a fortune from the IPO. Maybe a true president and a board of directors would do better than an owner who tinkers with his hobby team at your and my expense!

I think we need to assign blame on the one person who for the last 20 years has made bad personnel decisions for us and that is Grier
As a scout and then as the decision maker he has been unable to acquire the right personnel for our team
It is inconceivable to me that Ross is so incompetent an owner as to not have figured this out yet
Please replace Grier and get an offensive line once and for all
Even an average QB can look good given the time to find the open receiver
Grier traded Tannehill but that was not our problem . Our problem was and is the offensive line
Now i also have to admit the double offensive coordinators are horrible and also need to be replaced. This might be a Flores deficiency if he is not able to see that and get the right asst coaches
We enter this offseason with lots of CAP money I hope we use it to get the right personnel but please please bring new blood into that decision making and don’t let Grier screw us again

Well Jimmy I have to disagree with you on one thing. Tua,you said deserves one more year because of the need to have help around him. I have been pulling for Tua this year just for the fact that he is our QB,and yes we do need help with the O-line specifically. But Tua proved last week against the Titans that he’s not the answer as much as I hate to say it. For one thing the way the ball just slipped out of his hand while attempting to throw proved to me he has small hands. Also he just doesn’t have the strong arm to get it downfield,on just about every throw we have the receiver on a go route,Tua heaves the ball and the receiver has to slow down in order to go after the ball. Tua’s a nice guy but he’s just not our franchise QB. He’s an accurate passer within 20 yards, after that he’s not the same. GO FINS!!!

Hey, Randy I did a film study in the last article and I see the game differently. Jimmy is a Tua guy… I never wanted him, but… I think as much as he has been hype to start he’s getting over grilled now. He had the drops… but we couldn’t run on the nickel and they played nickel all day dropping into zone coverage against our 2 Wr and 2 TE sets. We couldn’t run them out of nickel, so Tua Tua had to throw in the wind and rain against a nickel under pressure from 4 rushers. His game as far as passing isn’t as bad as it is made out to be in my opinion. He throw a nice deep ball and had tight windows most of the day. I dont’ think anyone but the most elite having the most elite day could have pulled it off. Again, Tua is Tua … a system QB and doesn’t have elite arm talent… but, this OL is the worst OL in PHins history… I think the foucs has to be there…. they will push for Watson now…. and if and when he comes, the failure will go even higher!!! Grier is push a narritive as he is the one who built this OL…. bad things coming in my mind.
