Training Camp Is Just 1 Week Away

Training Camp Just 1 Week Away and will ushering in one of the more intriguing seasons.

Training Camp is just 1 week away and will ushering in one of  Miami’s more intriguing seasons.

This Dolphins Training Camp will be the Fans first real glimpse at this new regime.

Miami is seven days away from the start of the 2016 training camp that begins on Friday July 29th at 9 am. With every new training camp comes excitement born from the hope that the new year will bring success to the Miami Dolphins – and vicariously to we the fans. But, this year’s excitement feels a little bit different because this year is filled with far more subplots and intrigue than is the usual fare. A myriad of “IF’s”, ranging from players stepping up, bouncing back and staying healthy, to a new coaching staff, the Patriots missing Brady, and talented players playing on other teams looking to prove Miami’s front office wrong, lurks to bring feast or famine at each turn.

Below is the training camp schedule where this tale will begin to unfold:

Friday, July 29, 9 a.m

Saturday, July 30, 8:35 a.m

Sunday, July 31, 8:35 a.m

Monday, Aug. 1, 8:35 a.m

Thursday, Aug. 4, 9 a.m

Friday, Aug. 5, 8:35 a.m

Monday, Aug. 8, 9 a.m

Tuesday, Aug. 9, 8:35 a.m

Wednesday, Aug. 10, 8:35 a.m

Monday, Aug. 15, 8:35 a.m

Tuesday, Aug. 16, 8:35 a.m

Wednesday, Aug. 17, 8:35 a.m

Training camp will give this team live competition with full pads during several scrimmages and Preseason games, where we lovers of football can begin to finger the pudding for proof of hope…or gloom.

Camp will offer fans a legitimate chance to see if Miami’s Offensive Line has improved and, despite all the talk about this and that, is the most crucial aspect of the 2016 Dolphins. The Phins have made a lot of moves on the offensive line, and Training camp will finally offer a chance for the fan to see if the line will actually play better. The O-line is the soul of any offense (and frankly of the entire team), and if the Dolphins can get better play out of this group, then the offense should improve dramatically – most notably Ryan Tannehill.

On the defensive side of the ball, we will finally get a good look at the secondary, which is clearly the most unclear unit on the defensive side of the ball. The Dolphins let their best corner walk by cutting ties with Grimes. So now the Dolphins will have Maxwell, Howard and Lippett as their projected starters at the corner spot. As Cornerbacks get exposed “toot sweet” on the NFL level, training camp will be a strong indication as to what each players offers…or what he does not. Miami Football gambling fans are hoping that Maxwell will rebound after a down year,  Lippett will have blossomed as a sophomore, and Howard will thrive now that he is moved out of man and into zone with ‘over help’.

This training camp has all makings of an heroic epic or a horror story.

These story lines are two amid many: will Gase and Joseph be quality coaches, can Foster revive his career, will Tannehill take the next step, was Tunsil as good a pick as billed, will Alonso, Albert, Ajayi, Parker and Wake stay healthy, can Williams once again dominate at DE, will Dion Jordan ever return and was Carroo and Drake a reach – and these are just the headliners.

This camp will start the reveal of Miami’s fate for this decade. I for one am will have my popcorn popped and ready for July 29th!! What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans expectations and worries for training camp? Go Fins!!!
