Vegas Doubles Down On Disaster… Bets Gase Gets Fired

Vegas is aiming both barrels at Gase and the Dolphins

Gase & the Phins aren’t getting winning odds from Vegas

Vegas says Gase is coaching for all the marbles in 2018… and will lose

The Dolphins have been a doormat of the NFL for 15 plus years. Since 2002 the Phins have only made the playoffs twice. Adam Gase, whether by luck or brilliance, led the Phins to one of those postseason appearances. Yet, ESPN and Vegas are writing Miami off this year.

Vegas is doubling down and betting this is Gase’s last season as Head Coach…

Coach Gase was riding high after his Playoff run. But, last year’s step back and collapse is a roadblock to many being believers. But doesn’t the loss of the starting QB and Middle Linebacker, before the season even starts, count as mitigating factors? What about not having a Bye Week? A cokehead coach? Their top Free Agent going AWOL?

Apparently, Vegas says nope, nope, and nope!

Gase is entering his third season as the Head Coach, and at this point, he has everything at his disposal to win. I’m not talking Super Bowl or bust, but nothing short of 9 wins is acceptable. And 9 wins will be 50 / 50, depending on the context of how they’re achieved.

I have a blank slate with Gase and these Phins, but it’s for a single season–A SINGLE SEASON. I do see 2017 as full of legit excuse (rationals), but 2018 is ‘win or go home’.

Sure Miami had a lot of turnover on their roster, but there’s also a lot to like about its composition: youth and speed. Also, the Offensive Line’s has been bolstered (finally)–if the O-Tackles can get on track. Tannehill is back with a trio of running backs that ‘appear’ to be as good a group as any in the NFL. Tannehill also has a plethora of Receivers and Tight Ends that offer unique skills inside and out.

The offense is supposed to be Gase’s specialty. It’s why he was brought here. He must make the “O” run and run well. If we see slow starts, lack of discipline, underperformance from starters, and inconsistency… that’s on Gase. The offense must lead the charge for the 2018 Season… or Gase’s head will–and should–roll.

I run against the tide though and see Miami being in a perfect position to surprise…

The bookmaker software is about as low on the Dolphins chances for success this season as they were in 2016. Why can’t he do it again with an even better overall roster? These Vegas predictions strike at the heart of the team: The Head Coach. They are saying Gase just isn’t good enough to get these players to step up. They are predicting that Gase has a good chance to get fired or be forced to resign before the season ends.

A wagering prop just came out with the odds for each coach getting fired or forced to resign before the 2018 season is complete. Gase, unfortunately, is one of THE favorites to lose his job. The odds on overall favorite to get fired before the 2018 season ends is Cleveland Browns H.C. Hue Jackson. In 2nd place as the favorite is actually that no coach will be fired by the start of week 17 and that price is +350. The 3rd favorite to be fired is Adam Gase at +700. This means if you bet $100, and he is the first coach fired, then you will win $700. Vegas is about as low as you can go on the Dolphins chances for next season.

We must also remember this is just a prediction…

Yes, Vegas is big money and they stand to lose a lot if they are wrong. But last year Vegas predicted the Eagles to win 7 games… how did that turn out? So I certainly don’t write off the Dolphins or Gase… not in the least. Despite some concerns, I see a silver lining… but this will all come down to Gase coaching this team up and making the hard choices at the perfect time. That my fellow Phins Fans is what the 2018 Season is all about… and with these minicamps underway, the tape has begun to roll.

Have a trivial question which 2016 college running back scored 8 touchdowns in a single game?

      Our boy, Ballage… no?

        So right!

The running back was humble following the game, and gave most of the credit to his offensive linemen. He lined them up — all of them — for the postgame press conference.

“These guys right here,” Ballage said, “every single one of them, they go to work.”

It’s true that Ballage had some excellent blocking, but he deserves plenty of credit for picking his lanes and making defenders miss. In an on-field interview with Fox Sports following the game, Ballage took no credit.

“It wasn’t me,” Ballage said. “It was God and my offensive linemen.”

When asked about the record following the game, he said he wasn’t keeping up with it or even thinking about it during the game. He also put the team success first, a trait that is certainly desired of NFL running backs, many of whom don’t like to share the football

    Yes!

There’s a lot of Rhetoric that really Irritates the Dolphins Fans and rightly so. A very deep hole to climbed out of. But A good coach would take the worst team and build it to perfection.
This Dolphin team can erased this perception this season:
    A. Vegas Odds poor predictions
    B. Limited to no Prime time games.
    C. Cannot get the proper trade value for expensive players
    D. 1st Round pick’s are yet to perform like 1st rounder’s should. Our Best player of the years was not even
    Drafted!

All this and I still believed that Coach Gase can turn this culture around! Once he takes his team to New England and defeat them.

As a Dolphin Fan: The Standard the Dolphins over twenty plus years have produced has been excused after excused each year. Our 1972-73 Dolphins did not tolerate Excuses, Shula stated that year the Defense made 13 mental misstates that season.

“The minute you get away from fundamentals – whether its proper technique, work ethic or mental preparation – the bottom can fall out of your game, your schoolwork, your job, whatever you’re doing.”

So true and great quote. That was Shula’s greatest gift as a coach: Discipline. Consistency is more of a winning trait than any other single factor. Phins Top 15 in penalties and TO Diff and we roll with 9-11 wins. If not expect 8-8 or less. My only high-level concern right now is Tunsil’s discipline…

It just amazes me how people/media, the so called “experts” have such a dismal outlook for Miami this season.

All the “experts” only see the names of the departed; Suh, Landry, Pouncey.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Landry will be the easiest to replace. 112 receptions and less than 1000 yds, that is hard to do. I see Amendola and Wilson easily replicating that. I can actually see Wilson with 1000 yds with 20 fewer receptions.

Pouncey never practiced, he struggled vs power NG/DT, he still was decent at the second level, the problem was getting there. Kilgore should be a solid replacement, while practicing daily to solidify the lines cohesiveness.

Suh may be the hardest one to replace. Then again, it is not like Miami was a run stuffing “D”. The defense has ranked near the bottom half each year Suh was here. Not blaming Suh for any of this, but again, how worse could it be = not much, if at all!

Not to mention the return of our starting QB (Tanny), a starting CB (Lippett), our starting “Mike” LBer (McMillan). Addition of Sitton. Must be they all take a backseat to our departed players.

I can’t remember who it was (I think Terrell Davis, it was a former player), but one “expert” that is on Miami’s band wagon and predicted them to be right there and compete for the division title w the Pats. Now that is coming from a former player who sees past the names of the subtractions.

Suh is the only loss that concerns me. Miami has upgraded everywhere else whether by FA, draft, or development.

I’ve said it hundred times: Quick starts, low penalties and top 15 in TO Diff and Miami is legit in 2018. The only real concern I have is Tunsil’s mindset and his penalties… if he can even be just above avg / almost good with low mental mistakes, then James’ success is icing on the cake. and if James plays like he can consistently then look out… I will love to mock the mockers, Dunner!!!!
