Vegas Doubles Down On Disaster… Bets Gase Gets Fired

Vegas is aiming both barrels at Gase and the Dolphins

Gase & the Phins aren’t getting winning odds from Vegas

Vegas says Gase is coaching for all the marbles in 2018… and will lose

The Dolphins have been a doormat of the NFL for 15 plus years. Since 2002 the Phins have only made the playoffs twice. Adam Gase, whether by luck or brilliance, led the Phins to one of those postseason appearances. Yet, ESPN and Vegas are writing Miami off this year.

Vegas is doubling down and betting this is Gase’s last season as Head Coach…

Coach Gase was riding high after his Playoff run. But, last year’s step back and collapse is a roadblock to many being believers. But doesn’t the loss of the starting QB and Middle Linebacker, before the season even starts, count as mitigating factors? What about not having a Bye Week? A cokehead coach? Their top Free Agent going AWOL?

Apparently, Vegas says nope, nope, and nope!

Gase is entering his third season as the Head Coach, and at this point, he has everything at his disposal to win. I’m not talking Super Bowl or bust, but nothing short of 9 wins is acceptable. And 9 wins will be 50 / 50, depending on the context of how they’re achieved.

I have a blank slate with Gase and these Phins, but it’s for a single season–A SINGLE SEASON. I do see 2017 as full of legit excuse (rationals), but 2018 is ‘win or go home’.

Sure Miami had a lot of turnover on their roster, but there’s also a lot to like about its composition: youth and speed. Also, the Offensive Line’s has been bolstered (finally)–if the O-Tackles can get on track. Tannehill is back with a trio of running backs that ‘appear’ to be as good a group as any in the NFL. Tannehill also has a plethora of Receivers and Tight Ends that offer unique skills inside and out.

The offense is supposed to be Gase’s specialty. It’s why he was brought here. He must make the “O” run and run well. If we see slow starts, lack of discipline, underperformance from starters, and inconsistency… that’s on Gase. The offense must lead the charge for the 2018 Season… or Gase’s head will–and should–roll.

I run against the tide though and see Miami being in a perfect position to surprise…

The bookmaker software is about as low on the Dolphins chances for success this season as they were in 2016. Why can’t he do it again with an even better overall roster? These Vegas predictions strike at the heart of the team: The Head Coach. They are saying Gase just isn’t good enough to get these players to step up. They are predicting that Gase has a good chance to get fired or be forced to resign before the season ends.

A wagering prop just came out with the odds for each coach getting fired or forced to resign before the 2018 season is complete. Gase, unfortunately, is one of THE favorites to lose his job. The odds on overall favorite to get fired before the 2018 season ends is Cleveland Browns H.C. Hue Jackson. In 2nd place as the favorite is actually that no coach will be fired by the start of week 17 and that price is +350. The 3rd favorite to be fired is Adam Gase at +700. This means if you bet $100, and he is the first coach fired, then you will win $700. Vegas is about as low as you can go on the Dolphins chances for next season.

We must also remember this is just a prediction…

Yes, Vegas is big money and they stand to lose a lot if they are wrong. But last year Vegas predicted the Eagles to win 7 games… how did that turn out? So I certainly don’t write off the Dolphins or Gase… not in the least. Despite some concerns, I see a silver lining… but this will all come down to Gase coaching this team up and making the hard choices at the perfect time. That my fellow Phins Fans is what the 2018 Season is all about… and with these minicamps underway, the tape has begun to roll.
