The talk is that Miami is looking to extend Wake’s contract for another 2 years, and then give him a bit more of a signing bonus for 2016, but at the same time lowering his current $9.8 million dollar salary cap number for 2016. In addition, they believe that Wake has proved that he has plenty left in the tank. Being able to lock him down for a couple more seasons would allow them to keep Wake and Suh together, giving them both the chance to reach their full potential.
