Week 1 ‘Dumpster Fire’ & Some Dolphins Want Out

The Phins played some of THE worst football in NFL history against the Ravens

Will the 2019 Miami Dolphins be an epic dumpster fire? If the 59-10 destruction by the Baltimore Ravens is any indication, it just might be.

The Dolphins gave up the most yards and points in their history. Not a great first step for this regime.

This kerosine dipped question of “tanking or not tanking” was ignited with a flamethrower when the Phins made a series moves to send prime talent packing days before the kick-off of the season.

Now, after the vicious beat down in Week 1, some players believe there is a tank and reports are that multiple Dolphins have asked their agents to get them off the sinking ship.

‘Like Rats Fleeing a Sinking Ship’

But, let’s be clear: Lack of talent played was an ingredient in the defeat, but the beat down part of the loss was earned through mental errors and a lack of heart by certain players.

Ohh, And Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills departure had little to do with it.

They both played in the 2017 40-0 beat down by the Ravens and Tunsil was here for the 2016 38-6 butt whooping… and many of those asking to be traded were in one or both losses also.

Going back to the 2008 Playoffs, even when the Dolphins have ‘loaded’ up, the Ravens have shellacked them.

Some fans may be melting down over this early crisis. I was too until I heard that some players were whimpering that they wanted out. The news of the ‘heartless ones’ was oddly comforting.

Why you may ask?!

A crisis is good… when you are trying to root out the weak

The English word crisis is derived from the Greek word krisis which means “to separate, to sift, to pass judgment, to keep only what is worthwhile”.

Beyond the lack of talent, weak-minded coaches, GMs, and players have been the root of the Dolphins recent failures. This organization will never change until they purge this losers culture. Look at the Browns. Loaded to bear with talent and they had their doors blown off too.

Success in the NFL is had through iron will, professionalism and talent, not talent alone. I want professionals players… not spoiled millionaires. Professionals go about their business the right way all the time. Not just when it suits them or the path is easy.

To those who have exposed themselves as quitters, I say good riddance. Out with the bad, in with the good in 2020. Better to find out now, then later when it counts.

There are some on this roster who are building blocks… just not many.

Howard is a man of character and worth his big contract

The ‘spirit of the radio’ from just about every media report says:

  • 2019 is a disaster of epic proportions.
  • This is a failed regime.
  • They will destroy Josh Rosen’s career.
  • And this is the most blatant tank in NFL history.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Maybe, maybe not. What is certain is this team is and has been infected too long by too many with a ‘loser mentality’. You might say it’s from all the losing. I say the losing has just exposed the losers.

At the very least 2019 will separate the men from the rats in the purge. Does anyone remember hearing this in the 2007 Season? Me neither.

Maybe this purge will include Grier and Flores… eventually.

You can have all the picks in the world but if you choose the wrong players and coach them poorly consistent success won’t be there. It takes brains and brass. We know they have the brass… it’s the brains part that is in question.

Despite 3/5 of the Offensive Line getting installed or put in a new position and a green coach and squad going against an elite team and staff, I expected far more. The ‘good show’ close loss ‘booby prize’ wasn’t even on the radar after the first ten minutes played. And you can bet with the pay per head services, like www.AcePerHead.com it will get ugly again this week.

This can not continue.

Week 6 has been my mark for evaluation of Flores and 6 wins on the season as my aim to believe in this staff. I still hold to it. So, I’m not going to jump ship till then.

But, I am starting to lean.

Time to dig into the tape and weed out what is what. Go Phins!!!

anyone making millions of dollars not happy with their job. they should be shipped out. their cry babies like the kneelers how much money have the kneelers donated to good causes ?

Hey, Randy missed your post… been watching the game over and over and got lost. Jones is the worst culprit of unappreciative… but he quit in the middle of a game, so you know his character… from Armando’s report he fits the bill as one of the whiners and quitters. Making 25$ mill this season and all he has been is a problem… Never ever thought I’d say this, but I will be soooo happy when he is gone.

    Taken from the bleachers report.

Something that can really turn a team around fast is admitting that a complete rebuild is necessary and completely blowing up the existing squad must happen. Holding on to a mediocre squad for too long only gives a team years upon years of 6-10 finishes, leaving them stuck in the NFL’s version of neutral. Here are seven such teams who need to cut their losses and get the remodel underway ASAP.

Also suggested that there’s 6 NFL team’s that completely need to rebuild. Steelers, Detroit, Miami, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, can’t remember the other team?

The Dolphins exceeded my expectations by scoring 10 points. Next week the Patriots will shut them out. We should trade minka Fitzpatrick like we did Laremy Tunsil. Got to stock those draft picks!

The challenge is to develop a offensive line that can protect that quarterback Ross wants in the draft.

Given they faced a tough Dline with their ears pinned back and had the turnover… they still managed to 25th in QB protect %. The run game is where it was bad… as always against the Ravens. The run D though was a big surprise. The off-tackle pulls killed them. This was Baker and McMillan mostly. and then there was the TEs. minkah is falling fast into a hole… Very surprised there. You know Jones is leading the I quit movement… hope they ship him out. Should have made a hard move to get out from under him.
I expect Calhoun to get put back in at some point.
