Phins News & Notes: Injury Strikes!

The most important Phins Training Camp in decades has

The Miami Dolphins Training Camp has ‘officially’ started now that players have put on the pads and the contact has started. With the Regular Season less than a month away, Phins football is finally getting interesting. Without fans being able to see practice and no preseason games being played, information on the Phins state of affairs is severely limited. But, there are tidbits leaking out.

Bad Injury News Early in camp

Vince Biegel was a big surprise last season and was one of Miami’s best defenders. He turned down an extension in the offseason and bet on himself to have a big 2020 Season to net a bigger contract. Sadly, Biegel went down hard today with an undisclosed leg injury and was carted off the field after being down for a few minutes. Sports Betting software for bookmakers.

According to Cameron Wolfe, “He was very emotional and Brian Flores/Kyle Van Noy came to give him some words as he laid on the ground for a few mins.”

This doesn’t look good.

Let’s hope for his sake and the Phins that looks are deceiving.

Maybe a ‘dark horse’ isn’t such a long shot after all

I wrote yesterday that an interesting wildcard was FA safety, Kavon Frazier. Well, today SI writer Alain Poupart agrees that we should keep our eye on him.

Head Coach Brian Flores said today of Frazier, “He’s tough. He’s fast. He’s had a lot of production in the kicking game,” head coach Brian Flores said Tuesday morning. “I liked him coming out of college. Smart. He’s done a good job thus far. He’s a physical player.”

Xavien Howard is still recovering

Brian Flores said that he is preparing to go without CB Xavien Howard in Week 1. This was expected though because Howard is recovering from serious knee surgery. Fans should be prepared to not see Howard until maybe the 2nd Quarter of the 2020 Season.

Rookie cornerback Noah Igbinoghene has been very active, so that’s good news. He looks to be inline for the starting spot next to Byron Jones until Howard is ready to go. — Things That You Should Know About Becoming A Bookie.

Here’s a Heap of tidbits
  • Jesse Davis is firmly entrenched at Right Tackle with rookie Robert Hunt as the backup. But, Davis was beaten by Beigel and Van Ginkel. He continues to struggle with smaller edge rushers… that must get fixed!
  • Hunt along with fellow rookie Solomon Kindley are battling it out at Right guard.
  • As I wrote a few months ago, Michael Dieter may find his place as the backup center before becoming the eventual starter. Well, he took reps at center now with Tua as the QB. Davis continues to take reps there as well.
  • Rosen has flashed again and so has Preston Williams, who wasn’t seen today after a fine Day 1 yesterday.
  • DeVante Parker is looking sharp and still winning high-point catches. Although Noah Igbinoghene knocked away a few passes meant for him.
  • Tua is rusty with some fumbled snaps, but it was with Michael Dieter getting reps a center. Still, Fitzpatrick appears to be the clear starter. Good! I want Tua to absorb and heal for the 2020 Season. Give this kid the best chance to succeed, please! Tua did look sharp in his passing, so everything is trending in the right direction.
  • Interesting weight differences I noticed: Jesses Davis is down to 310lbs from 325lbs. Also, Rookie defensive tackle Raekwon Davis was up from his combine weight of 313lbs to 330lbs. As per Omar Kelly, Davis dominated one-on-ones versus the offensive line. Most impressive performer. He won just about every rep but one, which was a tie.”

The competition is fierce and Eric Rowe says Flores will turn up the heat quickly. Get ready to rumble! Go Phins!!! — Pay Per Head Bookie – How to Find an Experienced Leader.
