Bobby McCain Under Police Investigation

McCain is being investigated for threatening a 13-year-old Bills fan and spitting on another

Miami Dolphins Safety Bobby McCain is being investigated by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly threating to spit in the face of a 13-year-old Buffalo Bills fan and then later spitting in the face of an adult Bills fan. If these allegations prove to be true McCain will find himself in trouble with the Dolphins, the NFL, and legally… although, authorities said they are investigating it as a non-criminal incident.

But, at the very least, you can bet with the pay per head sites that if there is evidence some sort of lawsuit seeking monetary compensation will come out against McCain.

At this point, the Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores said in his Monday conference that McCain will be disciplined internally. It’s being reported that he will miss playing time.

As for the details on McCain’s alleged incident:

According to the Los Angeles Times, “Dylan Wentland, 28, told the newspaper that a 13-year-old boy who sits near him yelled, “You’re irrelevant,” toward the winless Dolphins as they took the field for warmups. According to Wentland, McCain turned around and threatened to spit in the boy’s face.”

The boy’s father is reported as saying McCain pretended he was going to spit in his face “5 or 6 times”.

UGLYYYY!

Wentland said a short time after this incident took place that McCain ran up to him and spit in his face and then ran down the tunnel. Multiple witnesses have testified to the deputies. Their exact accounts haven’t been reported at this time. But, by the sound of the sheriff’s office and the Phins response, they appear to corroborate Wentland’s account.

What really happened? Who knows. But, bare minimum, McCain wasn’t smart. There’s is zero reasons for him to interact with the fans in a hostile environment.

Last week McCain melted down in his postgame interview

This is the problem with losing this much and being the butt end of the media’s jokes. Not only did McCain have a possible altercation with fans, but also Christian Wilkens was thrown out the second play of the game for throwing a punch. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player thrown out of a game that quick.

Team discipline is being severely tested and it’s only been six games. What will it be like after a few more losses?

I’d hate to think of a Dolphins player intimidating a child. That’s downright pathetic even if the boy said something offensive… even very offensive. I’m no fan of spitting either. That’s a punk move for sure. But before we make a judgement we need to hear all the facts. I just hope it’s not true because it will become a media frenzy that will further tarnish the Dolphins horrific 2019 Season… and I like McCain.

This season just keeps on giving… doesn’t it?! Go Phins!!!

There is no excuse for spitting on someone even if someone is being rude and abusive to you. I hope for McCain’s sake it blows over quickly.

I did hear on the sports channel a few days ago that an NBA team was going to throw out any fan that was abusive to the players. Sounds like a good move.

In Hard Rock “Joe Robbie” Stadium during every game I’ve been to, an announcement has been made to report any fan who is not conducting themselves appropriately. I agree with that policy. After all, I pay for my ticket and expect a comfortable environment to watch the game.

Yeah, we weren’t there… so who knows what went down. I still think no one should spit on anyone… I was told by another read that the players on both sides were getting chipping even in warm up!!
