The Phins Lackluster Season Finale

Another Phins Season where the final can only bring a morale victory

So the Miami Dolphins 2021 Season was the ultimate rollercoaster season that ending in an all too familiar crash and burn of disappointment! Just when the Dolphins get you all warm and cozy, they go for the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom ‘kali ma’ and rip your heart out… and this time it was our former quarterback doing the ripping.

Miami went into the game with their playoff destiny in their own hands. How did they respond? They followed the same old Dolphins script and put up an all-around stinker in the most critical moment.

Two decades of team franchise failure keep rolling on….

Not only did Tua play poorly, but the entire team played poorly, with Miami getting run over by the Titans backup running back. When push came to shove, Miami just couldn’t hang with a playoff caliber team. Knocked out of the playoffs because of the loss and other unfavorable results from other games, and now will finish off the season at home against the Patriots with the Phins only able to get a moral victory by defeating New England. Sadly, they can’t even play the spoiler this year as the Patriots are a lock for the playoffs.

The various best sportsbook software sites have the Dolphins as a big home underdog at +7. Clearly the odds makers once again have zero faith in the Dolphins and feel they have packed it in for the last game. At the very least, hopefully the Dolphins can give a final strong effort and find a way to win and sweep the Patriots this season, which is something we haven’t done in ages.

Still… the Patriots are once again going to the playoffs and the Dolphins are a non factor.

For a moral victory to be remotely possible, Miami must stop the running game of the Patriots, especially since you know Belichick is going to want to help out his rookie QB- Chris Grier please take note! So, expect the Pats to lean heavily on the running game, especially since the Dolphins run defense was bulldozed last week.

Pats use the run game to support their rookie QB… Us, not so much

On offense, Tua will need to make some significant improvements from last game. Sure you can throw in the fact that the weather was a factor and definitely affected his grip on the ball, but the weather isn’t always going to be sunny and perfect. Tua has at least shown some progress this season, and deserves another season next year as the QB, but with a lot more help in the running game and offensive line.

However, Tua must take the next step and win the big game, which last week was… and the game to end last season against the Bills was.

Even though this upcoming game is just for bragging rights for the Dolphins, it would be nice for Miami to finish off with a win against their division rivals and end the season with a winning record. However, to do that they are going to have to beat a playoff team, which won’t be an easy task. Hopefully there will be a lot of changes this offseason, so a victory is always a great way to finish off what many will agree was still a very disappointing season.

What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans thoughts on if Miami can pull off the upset victory for the season finale?
